Sparse growth on agar. Why?

Just wondering why this growth is so shallow.

Well here is the back of the plate. I can honestly say i dont think its mold, i took the plate i transferred from and smelt it (was discarded), and it smells just fine to me.

is that green from the agar or is that trich? def looks like mold, its not very fiberous looking like myc on agar.

I don't think it's mold. Had several culture look like that and be just fine.
For security, transferring a piece of that culture no larger than a grain of rice from the leading edge onto some more agar would be an appropriate coarse of action.
If the donating culture is mold the mold will bloom on the recieving plate and the story will be told. The green is food coloring in the agar.

I personally would not bother with that plate. Pick a better one lol.

 Same plates at the start of the thread. I know the picture quality is junk, but its the best i can do for now. From what i can tell the plate is "clean" the dark spots on the last pic are dense area.

Id clean those up a bit more specialy since you let them reach the edges , there's defanitly some questionable spots in there, those spots at 2 oclock on pic 2 n all those colors on the 3rd arnt normal

I gave up on this plate,so ill see if it pins. The 3rd plate, those spots are shadows the plate is pure white on both sides.
