Ive been working on this thing slowly but surely for a while.  The wanted poster was put together in photoshop and the background in terragen, though i don't have the licensed version so i can't render that element above a specific resolution .  I still have a few more things to add to this scene (the fence needs some work) but i think it's starting to come together.

God that's beautiful work. It took me months just to learn to make basic objects on Maya.

How do you afford something like Maya? Isn't it several thousand bucks? Awesome picture by the way, just needs a couple mushrooms around that tree...

Wow, thanks for the comments everybody.  Maya is indeed a beast to learn but after long enough things start to click.  The initial learning curve is steep but it is soo worth the time and effort.

And no, i can't afford to use Maya:shiftyeyes:.  Thankfully I had a motion graphics internship over the summer where I recieved a plethora of apps....ahhh the gift that keeps on giving.  Good call about the shrooms, I'll definitely throw a few of those in as well .

Godamn that's a good render. Keep it up and look for a position at ID or someone like Valve.

Does Linux have any Open Source 3-d rendering solutions? I know they currently don't have anything to rival AutoCAD.

Awesome to see some renders here. I use 3d studio max with Final Render, personally. I actually just started to move to Maya, and now I'm starting to get the hang of it. If you guys want to see some incredible work, go here: www.cgtalk.com -> its a 3d forum with some awesome works. Click on "gallery" up top. Keep up the 3d!
