Update and Questions on Those PE Shoeboxes (with PICS!)

I'm working on two Penis Envy dub-tubs from PF cake spawn.
I made up 10 jars according to the standard PF Tek in RR's videos on 8 Oct. They were pretty slow to colonise. The final jar got its first growth around 2 Nov. I dunked 8 of them on 24 Nov., birthing 4 in the SGFC on 25 Nov. and using the other 4 for two dub-tubs.
The sub in each of the dub-tubs is 1lb. of manure, maybe a third of that by volume in coir, and a bit of gypsum. Layered them with 2 Penis Envy PFs per dub-tub, gave them a light misting, covered them with foil / put tape on the holes, and put them in a fairly dark place.
This is more or less what both of them look like at present:

Feel free to comment on anything, but, specifically, I want to know: Are all the white dots in this pic knots, primordia, or...? Note that one of them in the very upper lefthand corner is bigger than most of the others.

Awesome. Thanks for the lightning fast reply!
How long does it usually take to go from knots to primordia to pins?

Yes, but dude that thing has dried out bad. Mist it more and when pins come in you will need to do some bottom watering. All those knots will start aborting if there is not enough water present.

Oh, wow! Thank you.
I didn't know you were supposed to mist while it's colonising. That makes sense now because I was doing a Cambo dub-tub last week and all of the pins kept aborting. I had no idea what was going on.
I just gave these PE a spray and there were one or two heads in there. So I should bottom-water tonight? And what's the best way to do that when there's a plastic bag in between the tub and the sub?

Okay, great. Thank you. I'll check that out. Winter is definitely making things harder at the moment so I can use all the help I can get!

If your struggling because of dry winter, try using a casing. Some use a 50/50 vermiculite/ peat moss casing but that HAS to be pasteurized. I use straight vermiculite, which you can also mix in perlite and neither of those will need to be pasteurized.

So, I took all the above advice and these two shoeboxes produced a flush. One of them just produced the usual first flush PE bulbs or blobs. The other produced some of that as well as four pretty decent-sized mushrooms.
I've dunked both and am waiting, but I just wanted you guys to take a look at them to see if they look okay and if there's anything I should be doing besides the 2-3x/day fanning and misting and the 12-12 light schedule. Here's what they looked like this morning:

The first of these pics is the one that produced mushrooms. Disconnecting them tore the substrate a little and when I dunked it, it seemed a lot less solid than the second one had seemed when I dunked it a few days earlier.
And how long does it usually take to get the second flush for PE (since I know everything takes longer with this variety)?
Also, I'd like you to critique my setup:

Do the tubs, lighting, and polyfil look all right? And they're about 1.5-2 feet away from the wall behind them and about 3 feet away from the wall on the left. I know that RR says SGFCs should be in the middle of the room. Does that apply to monos and shoeboxes as well?

Those shoeboxes are made to be un-modified, meaning you just sticking one on top of the other gives plenty of fae and will require no "fanning. That's probably why yours are drying out faster. Check out mushboys thread on shoeboxes

Hey, just read mush's shoebox tek. So it's COMPLETELY unmodified. Does that mean that even the line of 1/4 inch holes above the substrate and the 1 inch polyfil holes are allowing for too much FAE?

How interesting.
Is there anything else he does that I should avoid?
So I guess the move now is to transplant the sub of each into an unmodified shoebox and clip another unmodified shoebox on top of it? Do I need make sure there's a crack between the two dubtubs?

Yes, JHOVA has correctly identified the source of my procedure. I followed Willy's tek on this to the letter.
