blotches on caps, otherwise first harvest looks healthy? pics
    #24852657 - 12/17/17 08:19 PM (7 years, 1 month ago)

I have finished up my first ever harvest. A few mushrooms had blotches on their caps:

(Scale: those mushes are tiny, 0.5-2.0 inches)
I checked out Kizzle's sticky contam post, maybe bacterial blotches, nothing to worry about?

Is this anything to worry about? My tubs produced a good amount and I've dunked them since with still no sign of substrate contamination... Here is a pic of a portion of the harvest:

Do these lil guys look healthy to you?

I'm a bit paranoid about poisoning my friends, haha, gahh... :facepalm3:
In general if nothing looks wrong is there any health risk here? Invisible insta-fatal mold, that kinda thing?? I know I'm being paranoid but pls pity me anyway and reassure me

Thanks

They look good. I think if there was mold present that you would smell it.

They look healthy, but you picked them pretty early.  They haven't even broken their veils.

Bacterial blotch, caps had standing water on them for too long. Need more evaporation/fae mang. Caps shouldn't be having standing water on them. Also, yes they are safe to eat still.

Just a suggestion by me to you on a fine beginning. Since mushrooms are mostly water and grow pretty quickly you may wish to spray water on them a bit and let them grow a while and bulk up and flatten out in order to get some prints.
After you get prints you can eat the caps for sure.
