shit!
is this cobweb?
i've never cultivated mushrooms, so i was unable to tell my friend whether or not it was...
these pics enlarge if you click on them
look over on the left wall of the container, about half way down.


if it is cobweb, what can he do to defeat it?
i was gonna put this in the contam forum, but it gets more exposure here...mods feel free to move if you are so inclined

Yes, I second that, it is cobweb. The best way to get rid of it, is to start all new and keep it in a cleaner enviroment.

Third that, fer sure.

One thing that use to work well for me "sometimes", was using H202. Just put some in a small spray bottle from the plant section at Walmart, and give the cobweb mold a good misting.
