I'm 25 and I remember it. Chatting with people after school and agonizing over which ugly font and blinding neon color I should make the angsty song lyrics I put in my profile.
I also remember having no supervision as an 11-12 year old in some of the old AOL chatrooms, and being obnoxious and annoying. Someone told me they could 'break' my computer and I baited them into it, and next thing I knew my screen was getting bombarded with pop ups until it crashed.
The good old days.

Speaking of baiting peeps, remember when the Harry Potter movies first came out, and that one creepster had a website counting down the days til Emma Watson turned 18, and a bunch of us hit the comments section on the site & blew the pedo's spot up? That was back when the shroomery was still a tight knit community.
And I definitely remember smarterchild. Shit, I remember when the Internet didn't exist, and how it all began. Crazy to see what it's grown into.

I do remember AOL IM quite well and it was great for what it was then... boom MySpace and later facebook blew up alon with apple. I didn’t know AOL Im still exsisted.For that matter I have no idea why yahoo isn’t a thing of the past
