pick it out by hand?
ive only been able to sift it out because a strainer i have just happens to have holes juuuust small enough for millet/milo. so corn stayed beheind. i mixed it by hand to 'agitate' it through the holes. like a tumbler.

Just make sure that there is not a lot of cracked corn in the mix, pick them out with your fingers however you think is most ergonomic for you. A few small pieces here and there wont give you problems, I had tiny pieces of cracked corn in my WBS as well and everything worked out great. GL

Leave it in and soak well then use Fooman's TEK. The only problem is the extra starch, so if you wash that off and don't release more by heating it too much (a simmer is too much) then you won't have problems. You can use popcorn/cracked corn as spawn, it's just not ideal.

Maybe avoid the cheaper brands that have a high percentage of corn. I only pick out floating seeds

I found a quick way.... I just used Stainless Steel Colander Strainer with Small Holes. It worked very good. It took out almost 100% of all the corn and sunflower seeds.

You're making this too hard. Just don't boil your WBS, which you shouldn't be doing anyway.

I have not tried anything yet, all I have done is clean my grain of corn and sunflower seeds very easily and no mess.

I buy a "no corn" mix.... Its Scotts brand. Like 8 bucks for 22lbs.
It still has a bit of it in, but its a lot easier to pick out those few!

Hello 36fuckin5, Why do you say that , when most of all of the videos that I have seen say clean the WBS of all of the corn and sun flower seeds. All that I am doing is trying to follow the directions. Can you explain your self? Thank You

Cleaning out corn is useful cause it produces starch that messes up the colonization of mycelium, makes it harder to advance, but cleaning out sunflower seeds is unnecessary unless you just like your jars to be a certain way. I keep my sunflower seeds cause they are like 25% of the bag, throwing them out would be throwing away money, and so far they work really well.
