Iffy; As you mention, it's hard to discern much from the first picture. I've seen jars with a quick growing wispy mold but still fairly healthy mycelia growth at the same time. I'd pitch any sign of mold, as you can have it co-colonize a jar [it's not common, but possible] and then the mold is released upon birthing [not good]. The browning could be the beginnings of bacteria. Usually you only start seeing metabolite-related coloring after the jar has been fully colonized. Wait it out, if the brown gets worse. . .pitch. Good luck!
I had a jar or two that resembled that, but the spots were smaller. I was using the basic PF Tek, but had coarse vermiculite (on the bag it read, "Professional Grade"). Anyways, I was using the 2:1:1 ratio (Verm/water/BRF), and the vermiculite absorbed all but 1/4 to 1/5 of the water.
I drained a little of the loose water out and PC'ed the jars for 45 minutes. Long story short, my jars looked a little too wet & had some small orange spots on one or two jars afterwards. I said screw it, inoculated, and the mycelium grew & covered the spots. I don't know what they were, but I never saw them again once the myc began colonizing.
