Lime- pasteurization and substrates

I have been online for hours and hours and hours gathering information about lime in the mushroom growing experience. After reading and watching a great deal of differing explanations, teks and information, I've come to my last ditch effort to get some straight-forward answers to my question. I will post here and risk being chastised or ignored for not doing my homework first. But alas, chastising aside, I need some answers. So, from what I've gathered, this is what lime is used for in the mushroom experience: Agricultural lime is used in balancing the PH of the casing layer. Hydrated lime is used in the pasteurization of straw and STRAW ONLY- NOT MANURE. Neither or these two limes can be used interchangeably when used for these purposes. I have seen conflicting information about these "facts" that I have just listed. Can any of the TC's or OG cultivators please help clarify if this information I have gathered is correct. The main thing I want to know is whether or not I can or should add agricultural lime to my 50/50 straw-manure substrate, either in the pasteurization process or just as an additive to help with the growing, (which I've also seen in some teks.) I grow successfully without lime and always used the heat-pillow case method for pasteurizing. Works fine but I do find that my bulks are occasionally prone to bacterial contam. and I'm wondering if doing a lime soak will help reduce this 10-15% contam rate.

I use hydrated lime(hi yield) to increase the ph of my peat moss, in my 50/50+ casing. It starts out at 4-5, and I bring it up to around 8.(myc can handle the 8ph, mold doesn't like it)
When you say agricultural lime, are you talking Calcium Carbonate? I think the main difference is the strength, hydrated is like 12.5 vs something like 8.
I don't know anything about straw teks.
