Hell yeah. Streaked my plates last night and figured I might be in for a wait. Thanks a million for the swabs, kirkeng.

I was wondering about that. Glad to hear it went off! I should be about a week behind you.
I just got another print, this time from GA, wild print. Got that to agar last night.
I'll streak kirkeng's swab when it arrives soon.

@thirdeye, glad that germinated for you, good luck!
@alaska and wavy, I think yours will germ pretty fast, my original print when it was good and fresh was very quick.
Excited for all the new developments up in here! Here’s to a good winter all around!

Out of curiosity what were the changes in your process that you think contributed to the difference in color? Would be very cool to figure out how to attain the heavenly blue.
To me it seems temp may have some correlation, but grain of salt as I’m far from any real experience with these guys. But earlier in the fall I did have some suspected caerus pop in my garden outside when temps were really low and the caps were much lighter compared to the ones I had inside at much warmer temps. Granted the ones from outside could have been GA or SC as I cannot remember which one got dumped there… if I ever get these consistent I am definitely going to play around, but I’m getting ahead of myself right now… one step at a time.

^^^ I wondered if it was cold- weather related as well given how ovoids react to colder snaps... Might be testing that theory here at Narnia House in a few months

They're hygrophanous so moisture plays a big role. Low FAE tends to make the caps lighter all the way from pins to mature fruits.

It's so nice to see some bumpin' action in this thread. Caerulescens deserves more attention. Maybe we can blow the lid off of this thing and have something like the subtropicales thread.
I have several wild lines of GA caerulescens banked in dH20. Most need more testing, but this one in particular has been a stand out. Got a flush of about twenty pins coming in at the moment:

Do you have a post where you talk about your fruiting chamber?

You're all going to love this species. They'll rival cubensis in size with way better potency. I consider them the next step after Subtropicalis. Gateway shroom to Zapos.
Kirk already knows but get ready for them to fall over. The occasional overlay actually helps lol.
I may have already said that but I don't know what's going on anymore.

Damn fine elpico! Excited to see those guys grow up. Would be awesome to get this thread moving like the subtrop one. I think I’ll wait to sample second flush, wana eat these guys fresh. Also going to take another stab at the GA hopefully after the new year.

Zapo gateway shroom, love it
@wavyedge - I'm fruiting these in a scaled-down version of jcm's fruiting chamber. I also run them in a martha tent. Best of luck and keep us posted on the progress!
Thanks kirkeng! I'll try to post a pic when the flush matures.

They're coming along elpico, looking good!! How's their size compared to the South Carolina line? I'm just back into the swing of things and I've got several Georgia lines that I've fruited before (and getting back to now) but they are maturing very small for some reason. I'm using the same sub etc. as the South Carolina line and the wild prints are very large. Ms not isolates. Any ideas?

Hey Rumblestrip, great to see you back in these parts! This particular line gives smaller, stockier fruits in general. Not sure if conditions figure in here; I've run several different MS grows with similar results. It's a beautiful phenotype, though: deep chesnut brown caps and solid white stipes that seem to lack the classic floccose texture.
I've only scratched the surface on the GA lines you sent awhile back. I'm hoping to give them some more attention here soon. I did have one MS grow that gave more robust fruits:

Thanks again for your help with this species, and lI'm ooking forward to seeing your progress!

Getting ready to take another draw. The first small one tested clean and is still colonizing the PF jar nicely and the agar is almost ready for a T2. This is the corn soak water, corn syrup and vanilla LC. Seems a lot faster than the one without the corn water.

Psilocybe Caerulescens Tonila LC day 35

OK, last update, I swear lol. Haven't fruited the caerus in awhile and I'm so happy to have them back. It's neat how fast the fruits develop. Got a little floccose action on the stems after all:

I hope this thread keeps rockin'
