101 Introduction to Alchemy

Hello brothers and sisters,

I would appreciate if any of you who is experienced about the topic can provide a guideline to start learning about alchemy.

The change is certain. I aim to shape and direct the transformation of myself through the teachings of great alchemists. Yet I know there are lots of misinformation and disinformation and I dont want to spend time and effort on picking the good stuff.

Please guide me, give me names, books, movies etc..

this is a good book to start off with, goes into elixirs you can make for your specific astrological sign etc etc. very magical and informative.

Mark Stavish's book IS very good as Green7Alchemist named. I began laboratory spagyrics after reading that book. There is also Stavish's mentor Manfred Junius, Frater Alberto's book, and books by Robert Allen Bartlett. The last fellow gives classes as well. Psychology of alchemy can be found in C.G. Jung's Alchemical Studies and Psychology and Alchemy, and Jung's student Marie Louise von Franz's works on alchemy are also important for depth psychological approach. Jung however did not go far enough so that he never enjoined laboratory work. The idea that a psychic content was projected into substances was clear enough, but he never considered that in spagyric (plant alchemy, usually not thought of as true Initiatory alchemy, but I disagree), that a psychic quality (a 'planetary spirit') could be projected into and then imbibed to get a psychic reaction. Even though for Jung the archetypes of the Collective Unconscious were "psychoid," partaking of matter and mind, he did not consider alchemical phenomena actually manifesting outside of the psyche in a flask!

truth be told ive read the entire book but i take it so seriously that i didnt begin my work because i did not and still do not have the "right" environment to work in, but the universe is rearranging things in my life right now! so i soon hope to join you and others on this quest.

Thanks for your time guys, I just bought the book of Stavish. I am keen to start cooking plants. Hoping to cook and transmute my consciousness at the process.
