I'm not a huge sax man either.

Op...

I grew up going to a church which had many members from South Africa, one of my best friends had scars on his face where a white person slashed him with razor blades for being mixed race (apartheid crap).

I wasn't much of a sax guy either, until I discovered this Bieber lookin' sax boss in "Lucky Chops". He kills it.

Yeah it's mostly the higher pitched sax noodling I don't like, Kenny G style bullshit. Lower pitched sax sounds can be pretty awesome.

Hey guys, I’m on holiday in NYC from South Africa.

Sooo I was wondering if anyone would  be keen to show me around the city

If so that’d be cool

Queens, NY dude here. You're not missing much, this city is overrated, big time.

Oh, and saxophone is a beautiful instrument, you guys are all just trippen. If you prefer lower end then you prefer "baritone sax", I love all ranges of saxophone, it's such an awesome instrument.

Yeah the MTA is a sick joke. I drive, even with NY traffic I still prefer driving, other than parking, god do I hate parking here.

I used to think they were bass saxophones, but it turns out those things are fucking monsters that hardly anyone uses.

Well you're right too, there is baritone sax, then bass sax is basically one lower and larger in size. Bass clarinet, now that is an awesome instrument as well.
