The Talisman is awesome so far. I love a good "epic journey" type of story with some fantasy. This one is fucking long though. I'm reading the e-book and it says that the book is 1387 pages long...

If you want to read sophisticated, excellent literary prose that is also touching, deeply evocative and just plain entertaining, this one is a good bet.

I think that second of the Wax and Wayne series is probably the best written Sanderson book (even though it by far isn't my favorite.) Book #7, The Lost Metal, is coming out in 2018! That will wrap up the middle section of the story. The last trilogy in the series is supposed to mix sci-fi with his fantasy, as it is in the Mistborn world but ahead of us in respective time... I CAN NOT WAIT!!!

My own hunch is that the Mistborn series will wrap up with book 10 about the same time as the first 5 book arch of the Stormlight Archive where we'll learn all about Adonalsium and get most of the backstory of the Cosmere. Then the last 5 Stormlight books will take everything and move it forward towards the final "battle".

Stanley Kubrick: A Biography by Vincent LoBrutto

I originally read this in the summer of '99, just before Eyes Wide Shut was to come out. I looked for a newer biography of Kubrick, but this still, 18 years later, seems to be the definitive one. So, I have decided to read it again. I remember it being very good. I'm sure it will be again.

Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy

So far so good. Took me a while to get into the British humor.

I finished Eye of the World and I'm pretty much all in with The Wheel of Time now. Before starting The Great Hunt, I'm reading Nashville 1864: The Dying of the Light by Madison Jones. Not too shabby.

I've always wanted to start the Wheel of Time series, but was intimidated by the volume of books. Avid readers take like 2 years or something to complete the whole thing.

I try to read two books a month.
Kinda pushing myself to finish Life, The Universe and Everything by Douglas Adams. It's not long at all, but some parts are just hard to get through. Hitchhiker's was sorta the same in sections.

Going for Hyperion next, but the beginning looks rough. Supposed to be one of the best scifi books in "recent" years.
