Thanks This is a decent harvest. I left a bunch, hoping they will mature.
Almost all my images, edible or active, are from somewhere in Sonoma County.

Finally got some good video and a selfie shot to show off! This patch has the highest volume of foot traffic I can think of in the town other than the sidewalk next to it.

you guys, every weekend morning since the first week of October ive been documenting every species I found & writing about the differences. the miles accumulated hiking cant define the new appreciation for cali. a amanita & a strange Boletus sensibilis that bruised some wicked blue along w/a pretty chanterelle. today was the windyest dryest day of the year & i feel like these bad boys blew me into their direction
sorry if ive posted too many pics still awaiting spore prints

They look a bit dry to drop prints. But no need, they are Psilocybe cyanescens.

When you finally find a lil patch of fruits ....
...but there's a security guard posted up literally right next to the patch .
I spotted some fruits popping up at this one spot a few days ago, kinda in a shopping plaza. I went to pick them last night but when I got there I saw security was sitting there in his car parked right next to the patch , so I just kept on going by....I went by there again today at a different time to pick them, and same shit, security sitting in his car right next to the patch.
I just had to share my frustration with ya'll. After finding the only active mushrooms of the season so far, getting all stoked to go pick them, and then being blocked by a security guard that's oblivious to what he's parked next to...Worst of all, there's a freeze warning tonight. I really wanted to harvest those before the freeze .

I would ...but I think "your way" if far away from my parts...I'm not near the bay or coast.
I was thinking about going back by there later tonight, but most stores in that plaza close kinda early. If security stays there late at night they'll see me for sure. I went to pick another patch in this same plaza early Christmas morning a few years ago, figured it was perfect time since all the stores were closed...security swooped in and started following right behind me as soon as I pulled into the plaza.
I'm going to try again tomorrow early in the day. I'm hoping security isn't chillin there in the same spot and fingers crossed that the freeze isn't too gnarly tonight.

So I decided to take my dog on a little longer walk than usual tonight, and well, I'm not sure but I might have stumbled upon some Psilocybe allenii. I could be wrong, as being in El Dorado County, I'm not really expecting to see them that often, but they were in fact growing out of wood chips and look like a very slight bruising of blue. Now these are much older than I have previously found, so the gills look much darker, but I would love to know what everyone else thinks. Caps are currently set for a print so I'll let you know what it shows tomorrow, if they still drop spores. These are the only ones I picked, but there was a ton more!

I'll get better pics in the light of day tomorrow

Nice! I'm relatively far from the coast so it's great to find them in my neck of the woods.
