Never seen these before
    #24825230 - 12/04/17 11:37 AM (3 years, 5 months ago)

Found these purple and yellow beauties growing directly under a small cedar. There was mulch underneath so it may have been growing from that, not sure.

Any help with identification is greatly appreciated.

Reminds me of Gymnopilus, was there a stem?

If you zoom in a little above and left of center, you'll spot parts of a stem.

I am tempted to suggest old Tricholomopsis rutilans, but would need to see stems and gills, preferably of fresh specimens.

There were no fresh specimens and we are about to get some frost here in the next few days. Gymnopilus seems to fit. Ill see if I can go back in the next few days.

Tricholomopsis rutilans, the gills would be very orange by this stage of development if it was Gymnopilus.
