Polypropylene/ deli containers for sclerotia

Has anyone used polypropylene/deli containers with success for substitute of grain jars and especially for sclerotia. I just made my first batch of polypropylene grain jars about two weeks ago. It's almost colonized around 90. I did some jars from the same grains and it seems wet in the polypropylene is it normal too look like there's alot of condensation in the poly? Is it fine for sclerotia grows and sitting a while?

Should be fine. Seems like the plastic is affected a bit more by temperature swings than the glass. A fix for that would be to try to sustain as constant as a temperature as you can in the area where the jars are colonizing.

I did stones in the 520ml pp5 deli pots, longest jars went for 7 months and they were fine.

Everything I've read says that these things warp in the PC from being so thin. Did you have to use any tricks to keep them intact? I think I may steal a couple hundred of these from work.

Keep them from pressing against each other, and have GE so they don't get deformed by the pressure/vacuum. FYI, the lids to most deli containers aren't PP. Just the screw tops are.

Thanks for that. I really want some 32 oz deli containers, but even the ones that claim to have PP lids have arrived will non-PP lids, so I've pretty much given up. FYI, from the picture on Amazon of the ones you tried, those lids are not PP5, which would be why they didn't survive the PC cycle. The triangle is a 4.
I want them for grain. Take up less room when not in use, and I think the seal would be better than the screwtops. I've lost grain to contams in unmodified ziplocks screwtops, pretty certain it is from air exchange when shaking them as I have no issues with my jars.

Agreed some girl, want the Chinese wanton soup containers , no leaking, heavy duty I have my eye on ..shh..webstaurant , the newspring Pactiv I've heard are heavy duty I got to email to see if the lids are pp5 , but I don't want to spend $50 for 240 of them and them be garbage . So I'm torn right now.

Pactiv site allows you to filter by material. It looks like they do make PP lids as well as non. I'm going to do some research now....
Edit. The webstraunt site does carry the PP5 lids. YNL500. But they say there are not PP, and the manufactures says they are.
Ugh. I was all ready to check out when I noticed that.

I gave up, didn't contact the retailer. Their pic is just barely to blurry to tell, but found clearer pictures of the lid, and they had a triangle with a 5, but HDPE below, which should be a 2. I've gone rounds with this before, so I gave up at that point. If someone gets confirmed PP lids I'll be all over it, but I'm not going to test the waters. I wouldn't believe it until they arrive, have a 5, and also survive a PC cycle.
