This confession involves me officially starting projects that I don't need. If successful, this Penis Envy mono should be plenty for a while, but this is very fun to do. How do I reconcile this? Tamps fascinate me, and AA+  looks so gorgeous, but I don't need them.

You don't need the mush, but apparently the mush needs you?

Variegated, I was doing some clones from storebought mushrooms while talking to my buddy, and that almost caused me to do the same. Twice. The not noting it, not the double transfer

I confess it's fantastic to finally have a few clean cube jars. The amazon multispore jars passed the shakey test. Thanks Psilo! Shoeboxes are in my future in a few days. Now I just have to be patient and let the coir get to room temperature this time.

I confess I'm an idiot

Yesterday I prepped 100lbs of sawdust for my hericium abietis only to realize today, while all of it is in my sterilizer,
that I accidentally prepped the hardwood sawdust instead of conifer sawdust. So now I just had to prep 100 more lbs
of the conifer sawdust and have 100lbs of sterilized hardwood sawdust sub just sitting around. How long do you guys think the
bags will last before being inoculated? My back hurts!!!

I can't stop staring at my pressure cooker. I can leave until the timer goes of, but I just don't want to.

Should be ok for awhile as long as it's sterile. Get some oysters going really quick. :-) I wish I had a 100lbs. of sterilized sawdust for some oysters. Except I have no idea what I would do with more than 8 bags worth.

Call local restaurants and try selling them. I think since I have both hardwood and conifer sub now I will do a side
by side. 18 blocks, 9 hardwood and 9 conifer sawdust and see which ones do best. The culture is a commercial culture
and both subs were prepped the same way and supplemented the same way.

I know it can grow on hardwood just fine but I'd like to see how well it does by comparison.

<---~~ Confession of an amature mycologist,

Life has been hard for the past three years. I have been dealing with everything from personal health issues and problems in my home that I don't know how to address to family members loosing cancer battles and other family members struggling w drug addiction. It has literally been one blow after the next for three straight years now. Sometimes I wonder how things could get worse but I try to not think that way because they surely could. I just don't understand why life has been so difficult these past few years. I confess that I turned to yoga about a year ago and rekindled my passion for mycology about 9 months ago to help me cope with things. I confess sometimes I come on here to help me not think about my personal life.....

Thanks everyone. I know this isn't the pub but my interest in mycology has led to my profile here which has led into a vice for me to take the edge off of the things I face in reality. Picks of some bomb shit coming soon as I get er done.

EDIT: I thought maybe confessing that I have been studying, hunting, and attempting to grow mushrooms to help me deal w my life was an on topic comment. Sorry for clogging up the thread with comments. I will be more careful of my comments in the future.

There are three distinct realities occurring simultaneously.

The first involves a single point or object.
The second involves that point/object's relationship with other points/objects.
The third involves their relationships in motion.

I confess, if I let people into my home, they are allowed to know I grow mushrooms to a pretty large extent. If I don't trust you enough, then I don't want you hanging around my house at all. Only time I ever have to hide things is when the kid has a playover, or when the GF brings friends home. And even then, I'll only stow away fruiting subs. Other things like jars of mycelium just get turned around with the writing turned to the wall. Jars and bottles of tincture, ethanol, the hood, stacks of plates, the sterilizer, agar supplies, even jars of dried mushrooms, dabbing rig, weed, everything's out in the open.

I confess I've been really proud of my work lately however far behind I am. I'm trying to muster the strength to bite my lip and get through the pain to get this jar of Amazon multispore in a shoebox. Also my oysters are going nuts inside their new home. I'm expecting the lions mane to follow suit. I can see little white spots all over the oyster bag where i mixed the grain in. Yay me!

Hahah. A bit off topic. Hopefully the off topic police don't arrest me. But it's better. I got most of it out. I still have a few bumps. A couple got pus in them but I drained it with a sterile needle and they are fine.

Oh and I got agar from this company and I was very pleased with the appearance. I have yet to try it but it looks just like telephone. I found a direct source for cheaper. I figure I post it here since a lot of people read here.

It comes out to 15 bucks shipping in my part of the US. So 2.2 lbs. for 45 bucks.

Glad to hear your lip is feeling a bit better.

I confess when the mental image of you sticking a needle in your lip popped up, it was followed by you pushing the plunger down to inoculate that lip. Weird.

I confess I think there is something up with the use of whole wheat flour in place of BRF because the cakes I improvised with whole wheat flour are eating a dink right now compared to the ones with BRF.

I confess I have blue oyster pins, but fear I didn't find them in time, and cut them free from the bag. They have a bit of length to the stipes, BUT the caps are just forming so I may be ok.
