*Update* Pictures - Saftey Question
    #2481482 - 03/29/04 09:54 PM (13 years, 2 months ago)

Hello, I'm new and figured this would be the best place to find some educated mushroom cultivators.

I recently purchased one of those mushroom grow kits. The Kit included a burlap sack full of hay, a bag of spawn, top soil etc..

Anyhow, At the beginning through a reading error, I ended up boiling the burlap sack within it's plastic bag... I know a dumb mistake, but the hay still ended up getting really moist. (still moist at day 15)

I continued and added the bag of spawn etc, and put it within a dark place for the instructed 12 days.

It's now day 15 and the hay has not finished turning white... I just wanted to take it safe and make sure it's not dangerous or the mush will end up being contaminated or something..

I can supply pictures of it's current state if required. There are white like growths and white patching all over, but it's still turning... Would it be safe to leave it for more time ?

Here are the pics... lemme know what you guys think !

Sounds ok, its bettter to pasturise than boil, but
boiling can also work.

Let it fully finnish colonising, then when it looks
done, give it 3 more days.

good luck.
