Green bits under the mycellium?
    #2479703 - 03/29/04 02:08 PM (13 years, 1 month ago)

a couple of my brf jars look like they have some small green spots on the bottom. they are really light green, and look like they are under the mycellium. they seem to be only in a tiny portion of the bottom area, and ive put them in a plastic bag inside my incubator to seperate them from other jars. any idea how "dangerous" this is, i mean can the mycellium, which is nearly 100% fight it off, or do i got to toss em? they are the darker spots on the top of the pic.
thanks

well i cant mmake out the picture really good, but last grow i got some verm that for some reason had quite afew flakes in it that oxidized and turb=ned a light green color just as you describe, almost a lime.I asked and i was told that it happens here and there to a decentt amount of people and it never was a problem the mycelluim grew right over it.So if the green isnt growing  then it may be just the verm.I got my fingers crossed for ya.

I have the same problem , but i have colonized birdseed ... On the bottom of the jar is something realy light green stuff , but not as shown on the pic in this topic ( much much lighter green color ) ... I noticed it today for the first time , it's not very visible , just a few spots with this shit ...

Here is my post about it in the mushroom cultivation forum , please check it and help if you can somehow ...

here's the link - http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat...&PHPSESSID=

Could this still be used to spawn with straw ??? I was thinking about just removing this green stuff ... Can i spray with something my straw to kill this stuff ??? Please help ...

Remove those spots with a sterile tool right after birth, then mist it with some h2o2:h2o solution, cross your fingers and wait.
