Thats trich mold cut those sections out and toss that after the first flush. You can salt small spots.

Theres no fixing trich just hoping your fruits come in before it blooms everywere

So anyone have any ideas on what caused the outbreak? Two factors that i can think of is these tubs retain moisture like insane. So i dont know if it's maybe way to moist for the mycelium and allowing mold to thrive?
Also the jars sat in another closet, and they were colonizing just fine, but i couldn't get the temps to raise past 68 so i moved everything into another closet that i can get between 70-75..... So maybe it's to hot for cubes?

Sorry guys, just trying to figure out how to prevent this with my other jars, i have a few agar>wbs jars that i started last month that are almost 100%...one looks like it might of stalled, it still hasn't recovered from its last shake.
Thinking about trying some 6qts in a sgfc I have left over from my first grow

So today is 9 days into fruiting, have some little guys coming in pretty okay....i plan on tossing the tub after I harvest them.
I still feel like the temps and the way these tubs retain moisture are big factors  in why I got the mean green....
On a happier note, 2 of my jars are ready to be dumped,so I'm going to do them in "shoeboxes" I'm gonna do them at a 1:1.5 ratio 1qt of spawn.
We shall see how it goes! Still have plenty of jars and agar going, so it will just take a little time... also reading some books by Paul Stamets, just makes me want to dive deeper into mycology!

Also I went ahead and salted the areas where I saw green after spooning out those portions, after putting salt down I have noticed alot of the water pooling on the surface...is this the salt sucking up all the moisture?

So they are B+ strain, should they have these white dots all over the caps?

No casing on these tubs, just mixed the spawn and sub together..on the 2 shoeboxes I made yesterday, i mixed the spawn and sub together and then added a layer of the Coir and verm on top. Added foil on top, tucked it under the lip and then put the lid on them, I'm gonna dubtub them or put them in a 66qt tub I have.

Ran home on my lunch and found that a couple of the fruits already opened and veils torn, so i picked them and threw them in the dehydrator. Should have more tomorrow, i noticed a whole bunch popping up on the sides....i guess the liner didn't help, i didnt line the little 6qts, so we will see how that goes.

Dont cut them. Twist n pull and take a long knife (you'll find out y) and scrape around the feet and simply pull off all the dirt leaving a nice sexy bulb full of magic. Plus the stumps are open to mold attacks.

Okay cool I'll try that on the next ones, i read somewhere saying to cut them and not twist them, cause it leaves the sub vulnerable

Thats a shame man. They looked so good! Sorry for your loss. Tell us a little about your technique and we can try to identify what went wrong. Do you pasteurize your bulk substrate yourself?

What leaves the sub vulnerable is how tired the myc network is after giving birth to all those fruits and standing water specially with remnants of the fruit left.
Some will disagree but the ambient spore load of tams in your house are a factor to.

Your goal is not how many flushes you can do its getting a culture to use up as much energy and material up to put out a massive first flush.

Focus on technique getting conditions right before worring about getting a magic bullet clone. Great culture+shitty conditions =shitty results.

So i woke up to find the same weird growth  on my 2nd batch of tubs. I got off work a bit a go and could tell it was spreading and turning green. So i spooned out the bad spots and then I salted them. But i haven't seen pins yet.
The mycillium growth has taken over alot of the casing layer and looks so good... I dont know what could keep causing this to happen...i guess I'm gonna try doing the 3rd try in another room, currently in my closet with the door off cause it gets too cold with the door shut. I have alot of traffic animal/humans in and out of the room, that could be a factor.
I'm also thinking about trying oats instead of WBS..maybe that will help?
Any input?

My 2 cents here. I'm not a very experienced cultivator yet, but I just hit my first batch of mean green on flush 3 of my first tub.

Your spawn is either A) infected  with trich, or B) so bacterial it is allowing the trich that is possibly present in your coir or environment to take hold very rapidly.

I would lean toward option B on this one. This is why starting on agar and ensuring clean spawn is the word of god around here. The less clean the spawn the more chance of contams before your first flush.

I just harvested a first flush off a semi bacterial jar. Didn't care to try and push for a 2nd just wanted to see if I could do it. This leads me to believe you need to work on the cleanliness of your spawn first and foremost. that just shouldn't happen before the first flush

At last!
So for the past month I've been stockpiling spawn, and trying to figure out why I keep getting green mold when I switch to fruiting....
I narrowed it down to my sub (coir). I was just doing the boiling water in 5 gal bucket for 3-4 hours....i don't think that was good enough.
So this last time, I followed that tek but then loaded it all in a oven bag and PC it  at 15 psi for I think 3 hours?
I could tell immediately the sub looked different, the mycelium grabbed hold and colonized way faster! Started those shoeboxes December 25th, put them in fruiting conditions  the 5th of this month and have major pinning and (fingers crossed) no signs of contams!
