The Shroomery Constitution 1

The Shroomery Constitution
What it is: An attempt to put into writing what so many of us feel is true: that we are a separate nation, here at The Shroomery! A nation of the mind. Whatever your poison is, I think it's safe to say that we all originally came here - and stayed - for a reason. I would argue that the reason is The Shroomery.
Who is involved? Anyone who posts here can be involved! Please post the following to get your name on the signature page: Quote:
I, <insert handle here>, support The Shroomery Constitution.
You can just as easily be removed from the list, should you choose to do so.
Where is it? In this thread! We will eventually be holding meetings (when I have a better idea of who is involved) and they will happen here, too.
So what I am looking for is something along the lines of the American Constitution...although my own experience is with the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, which will serve as my starting point. Basically, I was thinking of something along the lines of fundamental freedoms, democratic freedoms, and legal freedoms.
Fundamental freedoms would include all the freedoms that we hold as being inalienable: freedom of thought, belief, expression...those kind of freedoms that any member of any online community should expect.
Democratic freedoms would include any freedoms that are specific to The Shroomery, and would include all forms of moderation as well as admin action.
Legal freedoms would include all the types of site "crimes", as well as how it all relates back to "real" laws - both on an individual user level (the laws of the country you come from) as well as on a site level (the laws that impact the site).
***Note: the moderation of this thread will be heavy handed.***

Why not? Surely someone as versed as you in these parts of the net can appreciate an attempt to involve you in the decision making...

What part, exactly, do you not agree with? What line looks like a "tattle tale system"?

I'd say that the start of a "legal system" beyond necessary moderation (rule break removal/repeat offender bans) is how the rules regulating or banning mushrooms got here in the first place.
So count me out.

I have learned that this reality is limitation, learn to accept it and you'll be happier
You are limited by the Administrative policies, at the bottom of this page, for example. What I am trying to do here is create one document as if we were a real country. It's an experiment, mostly.

I think we should vote in mods and have term limits for them and be able to impeach them.

I agree. But I bet they won't.
Right now the rule is: if you ask to be a mod, you will never be a mod. Unless you know somebody.

Ah! So you know of a country that over a long period of time that successfully kept it's citizens right's and also kept others from using those documents to abuse the power they have?

None of this would be binding to any of The Shroomery administration staff (unless they want it to )...but I wouldn't be opposed to such a clause.

No no, I reckon we should vote for a number of people who then go and vote however they like for the mods. Also the number of people who vote on our behalf has little to do with how many of us there are.
