Did I just find NC ovoids?!!
    #24781016 - 11/13/17 08:03 PM (3 years, 5 months ago)

Went for a walk in a city I just moved to in Central NC that isn't supposed to have wood lovers. I found a nice fruiting of these on the edge of grass and pine woods. I've hunted Ohio ovoids many times and these have exactly the same smell. Spore print is dark black/brown with maybe a hint of purple? No obviously blue bruising anywhere, and they didn't really bruise to my touch in the light parts. The caps have that wavy look that is so common in wood lovers. Am I crazy? Are these active or some look alike?

Edit: DrGhosty says Laccaria lacrymabunda. I'm inclined to agree.
