INDOOR AZURESCENS CULTIVATION

Well, this site has ample explanation of starting outdoor azurescens beds, but no mention of trying indoors. I guess since they require rather cold temps to begin fruiting, indoor cultivation is not practical. Would anyone know differently? Thanks, Lou.

I think this topic gets raised by a newbie once a week and its always the same - 'ive never seen any posts on it.' Sorry mate, but if you did a search in this forum which takes about one minute - you would get about eight pages worth of stuff atleast...

I think I have the perfect solution for growing woodlovers indoors. I have a Ps. Cyanescens strain that mutated and now fruits by high temperatures. Just throw some spores in a glass of sterilized hardwood and wait. About two weeks after its fully colonized mushrooms will appear. They fruit at the same temperatures as Cubensis and can be grown throughout the year.

Cool. And you are sure they are not P. cubensis?

Yea, that is quite a claim to make, do you have any prints of this mutated strain? Or pictures of the fruitbody at least?

I do have some pics but, since I am new in computers, have difficulties mailing them to the forum. I do my best to accomplish this as soon as possible. The strain was the Wakefield strain but has ondergone some minor changes. Indoors they have nearly no wavy cap. They also have a little bit of a veil around the stem. But despite of that they are definetely not Cubensis. I do not have any sporeprints at the moment, only clones. I can make some prints of course but this will take a while. I estimate about two months. The strain is very easy to grow but yields are low, compared to Cubensis. You need at least ten 500-750ml glasses to harvest one portion a month. One portion for me is 2-3 grams dry.

>They also have a little bit of a veil around the stem
Oh, oh..bad sign.... If they have a veil, they are likely not P. cyanecens. You wouldn?t be the first to have a contamination with P. cubensis.
The pictures would interest me though neverthteless.

try this clone on straw or poo. Then see how yields change.2 to 3 grams would rock your world till it was upside down for azures or cyans.

I still have not succeeded in mailing the pics to the forum. However I managed to mail them to another website: http://www.zauberpilz.com.It is a german website. You have to login, than click ``Picture upload``,login on the Picture upload page, wait for the e-mail with your password and go then to the `Picture upload gallery??,click user and select Cyano. It is true that other substrates produce a much higher yield. They even fruit on rice cakes. But the psychoactive effect is higly unpleasant. Only shrooms grown on wood posses the good spirit. For producing Sporeprints rice cakes however are an option.

That was hard to navigate through being that I don't speak (German?) That isn't a cyanescen it's a cube. But that is still a good looking mushroom for growing off straight wood. If you want need another cyan print just give me a PM.
Peace - @cro

Does anybody has a microscoop and knows how Cyanescens spores look like? Iam still not convinced that this is a normal Cubensis. I do have some spores. I doubt that they are still viable but they should be okay for identification. By the way thanks for the Cyanescensprint offer, but I am at the moment experimenting with a flying saucer azurescens.

There is no doubt in my mind that that isn't a cyanescen, they look nothing like that in the pinning stage, maturing stage or fully matured. However, it matches up to P. cubensis to a T. Was that jar inoculated with grain, agar or colonized wood?
Peace

Agree. The pictures do not show any type of cyanescen.

Agree.
Don't feel bad... many people have made the same mistake...
