Identify psilocybe cyanescens please help * 1
    #24778086 - 11/12/17 03:35 PM (6 years, 2 months ago)

I colonized spawn with a psilocybe cyanscens syringe from spore works. Put it in pf jars then moved it to an outdoor mulch bed in march. Please take a look and help me be 100% sure that I'm not going to eat poison. Thank you

Thanks man I appreciate it...have done cubes about 6 times that was my first shot with cyan...it was surprisingly easy, they took care of themselves...hoping to get bigger fruits like yours!

Insane clustering. Just curious, do you live in an area where cyans grow wild?

Quick question. So just your standard pf cake buried? did you crumble it up or anything?

Anywho. Great work!  :congrats:

Yes they are slightly bluing. Hard to see because the stems are so skinny but when laid out on paper towel it leaves blue on the paper towel. Yes standard pf-tek then after 100% colonization I transferred to a small tub full of wood chips which I soaked for one hour then pressure cooked for 1 hour at 15 put them crumbled up in the tub of wood chips let it ride for two weeks then crumble the big wood chip cake  throw them in and outside mulch bed  then cover with about 2 inches of wood chips on top I just use standard mulch black mulch. I do not live where they grow wild I live in Philadelphia area. It was actually very simple they took care of themselves I put them out outside in March then when we had heat waves I just made sure that I watered them once a week. I kept them covered with a sheet of cardboard until the end of August when I watered it I just left the cardboard on top and soaked the cardboard with the hose. Then boom first week it got cold SUCCESS

I took a few shovel gulls of the colonized mulch and spread it around some local parks gonna go check out the status today. Everyone is so amazed is this not the norm to get this kind of results on a cyan grow?

Great Psilocybe cyanescens colonization! It's a gregarious fruiting cluster for sure but this is a year for just that. Congratulations! :crazy2: :sun: :mushroom2:

Beautiful shrooms. Definitely cyanescens - very dense clustering too. I've never grown them, but when I find them outside, they are almost never that dense. You obviously fed them well

What kind of mulch did you use, and how did you transfer spawn to mulch?

Thanks for sharing the pics!

I did standard pf tek then transferred to alder wood chips from the pet store in a tub about 16in wide X 24in long X 7in tall....that ran pretty quickly maybe 3 weeks at about 75farenheit. I read that I had to use hardwood chips but I couldn't find it easily so I literally just ran to a landscaping supplier and had him dump a bucket full of dyed black mulch into my pick up truck with the backhoe and spread that in an outside garden. Don't know what kind of wood was used for the mulch but it felt fairly soft like pine and even though I read not to use dyed mulch I did anywAy and hoped for the best. I spread it about 8inches deep then took the colonized tub, crumbled it up and spread it throughout a section of the garden about 2ftX4ft and it spread rapidly through an area at least twice that size. After I spread it I covered it with about 2inches of mulch and covered with a sheet of cardboard to protect it from birds and other pests trying to eat the grains from the of jars that I had used to start this project. Watered the shit out of it when we had no rain for a few days, like literally drowned it and that was it man. I just let nature take its course. I did pull the cardboard off in October once the temps started diving below 55 at night. Does ANYBODY know when they will stop flushing? Like first snow or below freezing or what?
