It's my best mates birthday tomorrow, and she wants to try shrooms.
We are going out for a drink, then going back to hers after.
My question is, if we shroom after drinking, how will the effects be impaired?

That's what I would prefer and recommend too, having never drunk on them and not really wanting to, but it's her B/day, and cos of two bloody sprogs she doesn't get out much, so there's no chance of not going out.

Alc+mushrooms is on my top 5 favoite high list 
coming down of alc and coming on to shrooms would be a bit odd tho hehe.. i ussually ingest mushrooms and use shots of liqure to chase them , then contrinue drinking throughout the experience, takes away any kinda mindfuck and bad trips are laughable in that state, infact all u wana do is laugh
id suggest bringing home a bottle, u wouldent regret it, i rarly eat mushies without alc anymore, they put my mind in another place.. and alc keeps it balanced. :P
if it was lsd id say drink on the comdown cause lsd is nonstop fun, but mushrooms can cause a serious amount of odd vibes insane thoughts, some shit u just dont wana deal with at that moment, and alc makes it a party. 
mushrooms are the only psychdelic i cant handle at all times, dmt is the same way, but i feel at home with that ally, mushrooms are different, very alien, maybe insect

In what way odd? We won't be having much, maybe 1 gram or so each, don't want her puking and being pissed off with me because I would blatantly be a bad mate and go outside and look at stars....

i dunno some people get nausea from shrooms... i use to get a stomach ache on the come up when i first started doing them near a decade ago, but since thoes days i dont feel the least bit nauseated on any psychdelic not held in the research chemical list.
but ya, keep that in mind, if she might throw up, then dont do it :P
odd meaning, just burning out 1 high, and throw yourself into a psychdelic void, but if ur tolerence is not low to psychdelics, then 1 gram after the alc should be fine if ur up for it at that point.
no your bodys, if u have a habbit of throwing up drugs like shrooms , then expect that

I've never had nausea on shrooms, not even on Morning Glory or HBW, was thinking the alcohol might make her puke cos she tends to smoke spliffs after drinking and go green...
....but can always tell her to go easy on the drinks cos they make her maudlin anyway. more of an e-bunny, really.
Will the drink take the edge of the body-load ( ie, restless, nervous, feeling?)

For a party event I would see drinking at the end apropriate, make sure you have landed completely (more or less) cause the landing is so beautifull in itself. Sometimes you feel a bit weirded out at the end of a mushroom trip, so for a birthday event I would reccomend a few drinks to reflect back at the trip in a happy funny manner oposed to an awe'd out manner.

Last time i tripped i had a good 4 shots of rum before i ate the shrooms, it relaxed me and helped remove pre trip anxiety. Alc + Shrooms is ok in my opinion, but i think that it isnt so ok for your liver.
My Favorite is still weed + shrooms.

I would say weed and shrooms is a much better combination. I have taken shrooms before after having some drinks. Being already buzzed/drunk when you trip shrooms kind of takes the introspective thinking aspect of the trip, as alchohal numbs your brain. Peace.

Everyone always recommends weed, but I have totally gone off it: makes me feel like an uncommunicative retard...
Anyway, it was a great night. We went out and got slightly drunk. I was trying not to get too pissed for the sake of the shrooms. Unfortunately the combination of drink and having been up at 5am that morning to go to work made me feel extremely tired. A friend gave me half an E to wake me up a bit ( which has none of the normal effects on me, I am the Terrance Mckenna of E, dose wise, and so was the equivalent of a few hefty coffees )
Got back a couple of hour laters and made shroom cuppa-soup and my god, I can honestly say it was the best, most fantastic thing ever. An awesome combination. Utter euphoria coupled with amazing visuals but flat-on-your back chilled-out.

The first time I did shrooms I had taken 10 shots of tequila about an hour before. It wasn't bad or anything, I just remember like 5% of the trip.

I think it's a bit of a waste of the trip to get quite plastered, as then you cannot have the same amount of control over yourself and your thoughts, and the same amount of coherency to understand what you are experiencing... but I've done it myself, and have found that I can drink insane amounts of alcohol without it having such an effect on my while peaking... but when you start to come down off the shrooms you realize that you are really drunk... but i'd second "idontclassify's" experience... you tend to not remember things afterwards.
