mushies 'changing' personality
    #2473725 - 03/25/04 04:23 PM (19 years, 10 months ago)

since i first tripped ive found that ive had a more open mind, and seem to think about things a hell of alot more than i used to, however im just wondering can shrooms change your personality in a bad way? i mean can you turn into some triphead who overanalyses everything etc? i really enjoy shrooms but i dont wanna become a 'changed person' or any shit, i would do them again simply because i really enjoyed them

It does change you but only for the better, from my experience and most people's experience.
You might analyze things deeper than before but in a relaxed manner, its not like its going to get you nevrotic. Meditation can keep you're mentality even more relaxed and disiplined if you ever feel the danger for over-thinking coming along. I got that from the fact that I have ADD and smoked alot of pot, now I'm meditating and its all good.

I think it can definately change you, but basically you're walking away with more information, more knowledge, more experience. So regardless of whether you have a bad trip or a great one, you will learn from it. Even if you say "I never want to do that again", you'll most likely emerge a better person.

If anything for me it let me look at the bigger picture and rationalize it much better. Some times it can be depressing or whatever, but i think im all and all pretty much the same and ive tripped probably more times then i should of at my age. Anymore tho i will not trip more then once or twice a year. At this rate its more of a spiritual clensing, making sure i got priorities on the right track.

For me, after I became involved with mushrooms, I came out of my first trip thinking there's a lot more to life that I didn't realize and the things in life I was aware of I had taken for granted. I don't really think mushrooms have changed who I am, but they have perhaps smoothed some of my rough egdes.

I believe that mushrooms can change your personality for the worse. If mushrooms made everybody a better person, I think there would be more of a medicinal use for them. Mushrooms can create panic and anxeity disorders, result in depression, and or create an antisocial complex; although I would think that such cases are rare.

Now I'm not saying mushrooms are bad, but rather implying that you should have a certain respect for them. You'll hear it over and over again, moderation is key.

Every experiance you ever have will change what you think in some way, i don't really think that it changes
your personality, just your out look on things and life in general.

No disrespect but wtf? I can understand you in one way but I think the only situations where those things happen are when you dont want to accept the experience, like the mushrooms are trying to reveal some truths to you but you dont want to accept them so you fight and make more knots in your brain, but if you accept the experience the mushrooms will loosen (and even untie) the knots in your brain.

I have yet to see this happen to someone, I havent met anybody in person getting worse after moderated mushroom use or anybody at the shroomery for that sake...
