If i cased two diff strains together will i necessarily produce a hybrid mushroom? how are strains cross bred?

Not all Dikaryons are capable of interacting with other Dikaryons, even from the same Strain. So the chances of anastamosis occuring between two different Strains is RARE. I doubt you will form a hybrid this way. If you completely mix up the mycelium together of the two different strains, you may not even get a good flush. Becasue only like mycelium will fuse back together, resulting in patches of mushrooms if any. Side by side casing will result in two different srooms fruiting side by side, and POTENTIALLY, but highly unlikely a third hybrid shroom fruiting along the interface of the two strains.

Hybrids are formed by mating monokaryons of different strains, and then fruiting the resulting Dikaryon by itself.
