Removing Your Sub Without Fucking It Up
You Will Need: - shoebox lid, or equal substitute - lined substrate in a monotub
Directions: Stand your monotub up on the short end

On the top end of substrate, slide your hand underneath it push it away from the bottom, to create a small gap.

Slide your shoebox lid into the gap between the sub and the bottom of the tub. Make sure to use the smooth top side against the sub liner, so that it doesn't rip the liner.

Continue sliding the lid until its all the way beneath the sub. Then set the tub back down.

Tilt the tub up slighty from the opposite side, the side you slid the lid under, and reach your hand underneath the shoebox lid.

With your hand under the shoebox lid, try to adjust it so that its as centered under the substrate as possible, then lift the tub out. Remember the tub should still be slightly tilted to allow for easy removal.

Gently set everything down on a solid surface. Go to town with the scissors now that you can easy attack the fruits!

Bonus: When making your monotubs, place a spare shoebox lid on the bottom before placing your liner. Then when you goto harvest, the lid is already there to help you pull it out!

it will only break apart if there are contaminates present that weaken the culture. otherwise its pretty darn sturdy.

this is nice. there is the taping up the holes and floating the sub method that also dunks the sub but theres no way to tell how much your sub drinks when you do it that way. i haven't floated with a liner but i would be afraid to drop the whole fucker if i took it out. still v innovative.

I pinch two corners of the liner diagonally across each other and gently lift. Works very well for light substrates in mini monos.
But your Tek works great both with smaller and bigger substrates, very nice Munch!

yeah i buy those super cheap black 30 gallon bags that just come in a roll of 10 for like $1. they just rip if you try to lift from the corners of a full monotub. you could pay more money for thicker bags that won't rip when you lift, but I prefer to save the money

I'm not sure I would be able to find such low quality of plastic bags in my country that they rip from a force of around 1-2kg substrate

Floating is probably really good for cutting them at the stems, I found it less useful in harvesting side shrooms.

the only thing I can think of is that harvesting many tubs in one session might be time consuming or just kind of a pita. all that water, would you syphon from one tub to the next and reuse it? or use new water? just thinking about the logistics of it on a large scale.
