with the easy stacking of the shoeboxes. how will you fruit those? in monos? thats going to take up alot of space if your using monos. if you fruit a an automated setup i see it being space efficient.

I would dub tub it. With one layer on micropore tape around the edges (haven't tried just a thought) easy stacking plus less space. Imo.

More shelves with less head space, say 3 inches above the shoebox would help. That way you wouldn't have to stack but still get you shoeboxes in roughly the same space.
I have been wondering if we could put 2 holes in the lids, similar to mono tub holes and put layers of micropore tape over them for the FAE.

Bod wrote up a tek on it. I haven’t tried yet Bods harvesting tek
Just FYI trying to stack dubbed shoeboxes is an accident waiting to happen. The bottoms aren’t perfectly flat. I’ve tried

You could float the sub to harvest
That was literally a "Eureka" moment for me!

Wow the canopy was so thick I wasn't aware of a lot of the smaller ones, I'm surprised results like this are possible with multispore. They are in the fridge rn when I finish the side ones I'll post the yield.

Holy shit dude, that's a lot of fungus. What did you use for spawn and sub and at what ratio?

Thanks everyone, this has sold me on open air fruiting. I only used coir and wbs as spawn. Only issue is its semi dry here so it required a lot of misting but I think the constant evaporation and rehydration made it pin like crazy. I guess it makes sense as they do grow in fields.
