    #24756119 - 11/03/17 04:05 AM (3 years, 6 months ago)

Hello all, i have been looking for active mushrooms in my hometown for the past few weeks and have been struggling to  find any actives. Was wondering if any of you guys know any areas in Eugene that i could check out.. Any parks, schools, churches, anything at all. I would be super happy just to find any actives atm.. Im not looking for much at all either. Literally 1 active mushroom would make me super happy. Any tips would be super appreciated.

Most of the bike paths I've had no luck. Check the parks and pay attention to habitat.

Nobody is going to tell you their spots.  I searched for about 30 hours before I found my first active mushrooms.  You gotta earn it.

Ive spent far more than 30 hours with the only actives ive found being some yellow amanitas that im not very interested in. Checked local rhodedendron and rose gardens with plentiful amounts of perfect habitat and plenty of parks along the rivers with rhododendrons and rose bushes and have been pretty patient and thorough with my searching after the rains. Seems like you just have to go out every day and get really lucky. Dont know how people are finding actives every single day in different spots.

Hey man Eugene hasn't really started popping yet...hasn't been enough rain.  I came across my patch in mid-December.  Be patient.

Yeah I’m 5 years in and never find actives.  I’ve learned a lot though, seen a bunch of cool stuff while out.

I had to learn you can’t ‘force’ finding them, just try better at locating possible locations that add up.  Slow and steady my friend, settle in and get comfortable for the long ride.

If you go through Alton Baker park along the path by the stream that leads to a bridge with a great mural of a woman Kayaking underneath it. In October there are tons of Aminita Muscaria to the side of the path.  Lots of people in Eugene have MM.

No locations man. OP, read about habitat, look at pictures, and walk.

thanks for giving me a spot man i appreciate it. The funny thing is amanitas are the only thing i actually have found, and im pretty nervous about trying it because its muscimol and ibonetic acid. I have one dried cap that i picked.  Ive heard if not prepared properly its slightly toxic, and that just makes me nervous about it. Can you give me any insight on how safe they really are? Or what the trip is like compared to taking cubensis or a typical dose of regular psilocybin? Cubes are the only mushrooms ive taken. The ones i found are a mix of yellow and red too, a lot of them are almost all yellow and some are more red.
