What do you use for your joints?

I have been a big fan of clubs for years now:

They are ungummed so they take some getting used to, you have to tear off a bit of the edge of the paper so it sticks to itself better.

That pic is of the original clubs I think and sadly there are mainly newer packs out now which aren't quite as good. I don't think they are organic any more for example.

Clubs were patented in 1824 apparently and they are made in Belgium :awesomenod: They are pretty taxed at head shops but you can find deals for them online.

RAW papers with Raw tips all the way.

I've been using the white ZigZags as of late though...

Joints are too much weed for me. I roll a couple a year for concerts. I usually go with Job 1 1/4. Actually 6 or 7 years ago somebody gave me a ziplock bag full of papers for free and I've been using those. I think they're Natural Spirits or something.

RAW single classic. Was smoking purely Zig Zag whites/slow burning for a long time since that’s usually what’s available at the corner stores. Occasionally there’s Rizlas but I’m not a fan. There’s not a lot of head shops around. Tried the RAW hemp king size years ago and didn’t much like them but the classic singles are perfect. Burn nice, smooth smoking, don’t tear easily. Definitely my favourite paper I’ve tried. The blacks might be good but I’m not usually huge on overly thin papers and the classics already seem thin enough.

I feel you, I try and not smoke them too much anymore but being a total pothead I have definitely had "smoke two joints before I smoke two joints, and then I smoke two more" phases

Generally I just roll them for walks with my dog and casually puff them along the way. But they are definitely a waste in a lot of ways, there's just an abundance of bud in Oregon :crazy2:

That makes me want to find some filters to use in joints :strokebeard: I wonder how cigarette filters would be.

I just make filters out of thin cardboard, just rip a small piece from a cigarette pack or something like it.

I don't always use them, but most of the time. Definitely preferred, especially with those king sized papers.

I use stuff like teaboxes for crutches in my joints, which are pretty much thin cardboard.

Still it's not really a true filter, it definitely collects some tar but having an actual tar filter could make a much bigger difference.

I don't use it as a filter per-se. (I don't care about the smoke)

I just find that they smoke better, and I can smoke them right down to said cardboard. Plus my joints seem to resonate themselves shut quite a bit, and this helps a ton with that.

Edit: you're right, it is more of a crutch than a filter. Sometimes when I have light cigarettes, I cut the filters in half to make them stronger.

The small cut off filter pieces I occasionally use in joints. Only really big ones though. I really prefer the crutches.

I always used the box itself the papers come packaged in. The little flap thing makes for perfect crutches.

I'm kinda torn. Of traditional papers, Zigzags. I do like clear papers though. I mostly smoke by myself and they burn like a blunt or something. Very slow and will go out on their own if you zone and forget. I also like that they don't impart a flavor or harshness that paper does. It's hard to taste it or pick it out when you roll a big joint but I still can. If I'm smoking by myself, I'm likely rolling something pretty thin.

Raw original unbleached

I filter every joint, mind you its more just to keep the end from gumming up and end up with resin all over your fingertips and lips.

I like the raw 300 pack. I write a date on it so I know how long it took to roll 300 joints. Usually about 3-4 months. I also like that it doesn't have a crease in the paper.

It was always an orange zig zag for me. No filter either, either used my old roach clips or tried puffing on a "stinging roger", which is always fun. Orange zig zag seemed like the perfect size too. If I wanted a moderate high, I wouldn't smoke the roach, and save it. But if I wanted to get real high, that roach collected all that resin in the end of it and seemed like it was the perfect amount more to propel my high that much further.

My buddies liked their raw papers, but there's something to be desired about keeping it old school.

I buy 1 1/4 zig zags and cut a little paper off the width with scissors as they are then a little longer than the white package.
The thing I hate about joints is 'runners' (uneven burning). (edit -I guess it's because they are rolled too loose)

Back in the day, yeah, but I also rolled my own cigs too. I was never really happy with the product, it was always too loose or too tight. I prefer to roll by hand, at least now that I can roll one that's pretty much indistinguishable from "machine made". My friend's dad who has been smoking and rolling longer than I've been alive looked at a joint I rolled and wouldn't believe I did it by hand. I was trying to be nice and told him I just had a lot of practice (I was designated roller for our social circle for years) he said he'd had a lot too. So I just had to tell him "some have it, some don't".

I always thought it was from being packed too tight in parts causing it to burn at an uneven pace.

Here's a tip, spin it around until the part that is burning slower is facing up. Then puff it quick so the heat spreads up. If that doesn't work hold the joint burning end up and use a lighter on the uneven part, then just hold it in the air until the flame burns the slower part. Those 2 methods work like a charm IME.

Just be careful with the latter method to only light the very tip of the slow burning part, and only light it after you are holding it upright so the flame won't spread.

You know how it feels, With the breeze of the sun in your eyes. Not minding that time's passing by

I've got all and more, My smile, just as before. Is all that I carry with me

I talk to myself, I need nobody else. I'm lost and I'm mine, yes I'm free

I can roll perfect blunts tho but blunts are disgusting imo

You have to move your thumbs outward as you roll, the natural tendency for most people seems to be the opposite, which pushes the weed in as you roll it around, and creates the lump in the middle. Start with your thumbs together in the middle of the paper, don't work your thumbs back towards the middle when you reach the end of the "roll cycle" or whatever you want to call it where you can no longer continue rolling the direction you were, instead lift them up and readjust them to the middle. When you roll outwards, it's a lot easier to maintain uniformity because the excess falls out the ends.

We always used the orange slow burning Zig Zags.  It takes me about five minutes to roll a joint but I only use 1 paper with a crutch and they look and burn perfect like a machine rolled cigarette.

White Zig Zag Kutcorners.  When I was young we always had blue, and for some reason it was hard to roll.
But the Kutcorners, I donno why, I can roll quick and they burn really nice

I have never heard of filters being called a crutch.
I have used birch bark as filters haha.

As for runs in your joints its usually caused by too tight or too lose, litttle air pockets or if your weed is busted fine the smaller dust will settle in one side of the joint so usually it will cause it to run.
Lick your finger and dab it under the run and should help a bit.
Also as was mentioned turning the joint over helps too
