You guys that do dubtubs uncased, how often are you misting? I've been misting it daily, might start misting twice a day

I mist mine throughout the day. I look every few hours and if it seems to have dried up then I mist it, which right now they seem to be needing it every few hours... but my dubs aren't quit matched in exact size so there's a bit of a gap on some edges. I also like to just leave the dub off sometimes

Just put these 4 PESA into fruiting tonight.
I cased 2, and left 2 uncased to see which does better in my environment. My last tubs got dry quickly and I had to mist quite a few times a day. I let the jars colonize a bit longer also, to see if has any affect on potency. Keep 'em growing Shoomery!

Hey guys, so in about an hour I'll be making my shoe boxes, because I'm using horse poo as my bulk sub and it struggles to make a nice thin even case layer I want to know from you if I should still use it for the case layer or should I use vermiculite or rather nothing?

Cubensis dont NEED a casing to start pinning and fruiting. So if its giving you trouble, skip it. Casing and when to case and how thick to case is subject to a lot of different preferences here. I personally have used and still use wax paper for over a decade now as a pseudo casing/ microclimate creating layer. Good luck.

Man, I can't wait to test these out for tamps. This must be why my first grow was so amazing. I accidentally made 2 mini monos outta shoeboxes. All that FAE must've been what gave me all that biomass.

Harvested these guys on the right today and took two clones as well. (harvested some other boxes with some smaller white fruits too and took clones but didn't think it was worthy to post)
Excited to see how this box on the left yields in the coming days.
Have some others behind that are looking similar as well.

It seems like the shoebox's that I go to a flipped lid after colonization have a nicer pin set compared to the tub's I tried to dub right away after colonization.
Would one of the possible reasons be that the flipped lid constrains the CO2 more while the dub allows for more air space for the CO2 to dissipate?
Or is this way off?
I heard some people claim wax paper increase pin set. Would this possibly be doing the same thing? Constricting the CO2? Or again, maybe I'm way off.

never mention wax paper in my thread
i joke i joke. but seriously. it wont MAKE more pins. it traps moisture down near the surface. that might 'make' a better micro climate if you conditions are already shitty, but dont have shitty conditions.
im a human. no way wax paper can do something i cant. like..fuck that noise

What creates a better pin set is surface moisture evaporating, reforming, evaporating again, etc.
Fresh air allows for the evap, and if moisture doesn't reform sufficiently on its own then you need to mist it.
Depending on how tight your dubs are vs how tight the flipped lid is, one will allow more FAE than the other. Depending on what your surface moisture is like, more FAE may be contributing to your results or causing too much loss of moisture. Either way, more FAE is good so long as you maintain your surface moisture.
The flipped lid boxes probably had better surface moisture along with still receiving FAE, which is prob why you had better results on those.
