it may have dried out some from so long but should still fruit.
has it colonized the verm. yet,can you see it growing up thru the verm. ?
if not, you may want to remove some of the casing material to see if contamination has struck.
deep scraching might be a good option at this point, assuming there is no contamination hiding below.

I agree that it probably dried out some during that time. This person put a thin (aprox. 1/4") layer over the top. Now this FOAF has mycelium poking through several areas, but the top layer of verm. is far from being completely colonized. There is no sign of any contamination and it appears to be and should be plenty hydrated. Should I still go ahead and deep scratch? If so, any tips like length and depth of scratch? thank in advance
