Acacia acuminata (narrow phyllode variant) * 2
    #24733189 - 10/24/17 05:03 AM (3 years, 6 months ago)

Just thought I'd show some pictures of this plant. Some people mention it's slow but as you can see it's usable at this age. If grown in the ground it would be more advanced.

Sown roughly 3 years ago in 2014. Approximately 4 foot high.

Base of trunk changing from smooth to reticulated and outer rough bark forming.

Phyllodes.

I'm glad someone saw the awethumb of this post. These trees are the physical embodiment of N,N-Dimethyltryptamine.

I was surprised no one else had posted.
If I lived in a more forgiving area, I would've planted some years ago. I settled with maidenii, and simplicifolia...but only the maidenii came back the following spring.

I was also a little concerned, but here you are. :sun:

Maybe try A.obtusifolia in your climate. They're from South East Australia, where the temperatures are more temperate and cool. They're fast growers but I sold all my trees a few years ago.

Just hearing that you're growing them is impressive enough.

It's funny you mentioned the obtusifolia. That was actually the one I originally sought out, but all the vendors I knew about were sold out at the time.

I guess there's no reason I can't try again.
