WHY SO POINTY? * 1
    #24704471 - 10/12/17 10:34 AM (6 years, 5 months ago)

Why are they so pointy? Is that good or bad? Is it just genetics?

Nice nips ya got there, lookin' sexy

It's just an aesthetic difference, probably genetic. I personally like the look of nippled caps more than flat caps

:dancer:

It's a standard phenotype, just like color of cap, degree of hollow stem, etc. Genetics are cool

I have cloned out some pointy caps in the hopes to keep that trait going.

Is it fair to think my clones should also be pointy? Any one else had success with the cloning out them nips?

To clone that exact mushroom, you would need to take a tissue sample from the inside of that particular mushroom, and place it in some agar, which then will colonize your agar plate with mycelium. Then that mycelium would be put into some grain and so on and so forth. But even with a syringe full of that mushroom's spores, you may get some similar looking mushrooms, but more than likely your shrooms will look slightly different.
