True confession: I got Dactylium, which I am attributing to not pasteurizing my casing, or letting it sit around for a long time. I'm not sure. I had a quart of casing up in a cupboard, and I couldn't remember where it came from lol! So sad
Quick question, as I've never run into this contaminant before, I don't think... I know that it can cross contaminate via mycelial fragmentation. I harvested what I could in the other part of my house. Is it likely that I will have cross contamination of fully colonize substrates?

Lmao! I still got several ounces. Don't know exact weight yet, but it's not too bad. You can't really dig it out, it consumes the mushrooms from the inside out. I'm just hoping they don't taste funky. I tried to only pick the firm, healthy looking ones.

Epic noob fail: I used a glass jar that has a metal lid with an inner ring of plastic threading for a WBS spawn jar. During PCing the inner plastic lid came loose from the metal lid, meaning the metal lid was entirely loose. I duct taped everything together best I could, hoping I don't get any contams. :P

I confess that I am cloning a really pretty mushroom, Stropharia cyanea just as a decorative mushroom, should be as easy as SRA if not easier.

Cubes are easy to grow...

Pinning from 2-week old RR-processed straw- that was dampened and stuffed in bag with old sub chunks....
What variety of contamination causes a growing 'wet-ish' - looking spot on straw or grains? Myc won't colonize a small spot, grow around it, then weeks later the spot grows larger. Wait, I'll take a pic and oh- I confess I have no clue...

Well, the Manifold TrichBottle Tek has turned out to be a huge success!

(Kids, if you notice a spot of trich in your spawn/sub/whatever, get rid of it within the next 5 minutes. I saw the spot last weekend but I put off throwing it out because I was leaving in the next hour to go to a festival. "I'll throw it out when I get back!". never again. If theres a new contest this is definitely my worst confession thus far)
@TheBlackCat, I found a place to store your purple mystics! The back of this van!

[/qoute]@Drayce, Looks like Bacteria
Alright, thanks.
I'm betting it came with my MS syringe, or one particular on-line vendor that sells pre-sterilized grains, as it's only happening from the products from one batch. The other one never made it past spawn inoculation and colonization, the bag developed these watery-looking spots that grew and that bag was tossed.
I confess I bought a PC right after that toss. Time is $$ & money is time, and I gots my mind on my money and my money on my mind...

My gut told me this one's edible, just like Stropharia Subaeruginosa, which is mildly peppery in taste and quite tasty, yet is listed as inedible in various mushroom guides. After finding it listed as edible in 1 guide, I tried the Subaeruginosa. I would try the Cyanea as well, since I couldn't find any toxins listed, and low and behold, after some more thorough searching:

I was actually poking fun because you were talking about digging trich out of a tub. I would never attempt to save a grow by dissecting it or spraying it with shit or anything else like that. Shit spreads worse that way and I'm not that desperate
