Abort Question

I just harvested the first flush of my first casing. The fully developed and mostly developed shrooms look fine (aside from a few mutants). I threw out some aborts which were obviously bad (very dark heads, very squishy, heads came off easily when handled gently). Many of the aborts which looked okay turned a very dark almost black color within 3 hours of being removed from the casing. Is this a sign that they were infected in some way. Even if they were already dying, I wouldn't have expected so rapid a change. My main concern is that these aborts turning black so quickly may indicate a deeper problem which might make it unwise to consume the otherwise healthy looking shrooms.

Any suggestions would be welcome.

My last trip was off 2.5g of aborts. I know what you mean.

Some aborts do bruise rapidly. They are very good as far as size/potency goes....
