This is actually a very old tek dating back to 1971ish...(I think) A couple pointers if you'll allow me...
1. Dont fill your medium container more than 3/4 full when using malt or sugars. They will otherwise overflow/blow up when sterilized. After you sterilize, leave it untouched for 2-3 days and smell for bacteria and look to see if a film formes on the surface... If so throw it out & start over.

2. Media which contain sugar (glucose, sucrose, maltose, etc...) may caramelize somewhat if heating is continued beyond 20 minutes at 250 drgrees F. This caramelization may me toxic to the fungi and they will fail to grow, or will grow but little, or no psilocybin will be produced.

yeah i got the idea from the adam gotlieb's psilo producers guide which is around 1971 but he doesnt refer to adding more malt when it is all used up. someone else told me malt is a basic nutrient and it will need someting else for a balanced diet. i was wondering if i could add glucose and peptone or honey when the sugar is used up to give it a variety of nutrients and keep it thriving until it is thick with goodness
