quick casing question

Hey, I bought these plastic containers at walmart yesterday and I was wondering if they would be ok for casing and the measurements are:
Length: 1ft
Width:6 in
Height: 4.5 in

6qt sterlite,

now i wanna know if I could use these for casing and use 1 cake per container

It would have to be a rather large cake to provide enough substrate for that container.

Easy was to find out. Take a pint of rice or something, and see how it fills the container. You want the substrate at least 1 inch deep,

no that would really stretch the substrate out to a thin layer.You would get very small shrooms.2 pints per container would be fine though.I have used similar sized containers and 2 cakes worked good.
