Habitat: weathered dung
Gills: See photo
Stem: discoloring blue and red
Cap: variable.....Some with a small nipple
Spore print color: Having trouble printing them....but judging from the spores on the stem/stipe..... purple!!....
Bruising: Blue.......
you should notice some tiny blue aborts if you zoom in.

I've got my suspicions...but wanted another opinion. thanks in advance.

The annulus might be washed away. Clearly blue bruising on those, I'd keep all specimens for science.
Cool find!

If you're willing to send me a whole specimen or 2, I will send it to alvalab for DNA. The second one would be for my pwn analysis under the microscope.

Since he's in the UK he should probably just send it himself directly, saves a lot of time.

Interesting and cool. I agree P. fimetaria looks most plausible.

I would not know how to do these things.

If you know how to send a letter or package, and how to pay a bill, you shouldn't have much trouble.

Hopefully you've got something like that, but liberty caps might vary quite a bit morphologically.

While idk, I reckon that P. fimetaria is a better fit based on substrate and appearance, given descriptions in Funga Nordica and Buczacki, who says it can be locally abundant, and my microscope skills are improving so I would like to try discerning some of the fairly slight distinctions they talk about, particularly pleurocystidia, and report back. If you PM me I can PM you my details to send a dried specimen or part of one. If it's too much hassle I understand.

I agree with P. fimetaria. It will be very interesting to see the DNA and run it in BLAST and put it in the tree. I hope you can get it analyzed since it's a very rare find! And thanks for sharing!! I hope you find more and take more photos!

Yeah, look at that! Didn't you have some dung loving Psilocybe find from Sweden, way back?
I remember also there was a guy in France who posted some really neat looking finds from dung, they eventually got sequenced and matched 100% with Psilocybe pelliulosa if I remember correctly. And they didn't look at all like the pellies people usually post on here. I guess further mappings of DNA in the mushroom world have a big potential to change a lot of the current science.
