Hello!

Went for my first hunt for liberty caps this morning, after reading around for the last few weeks.

I have doubts these are lib caps, but I'm hoping someone can help me ident them anyway. They were picked from a group of 20 or so. Strong orange pigment in the stem (stained my fingers).

Habitat:
Found on local common in Hampshire, on the edge of a grass clearing. The common has cattle grazing amongst deciduous woods/scrub... plus lots of bracken and brambles..

Gills:
White, mostly. Though did find one of same shape with brown gills (got picture if required).

Stem:
Stems about 3mm in diameter, 300-900mm in length. Hollow. Brown/cream/orange in colour.

Cap:
Largest was 250mm, smallest was 70mm. Some were obviously very young.

Spore print color:
In process of trying to get one. I'm being impatient!

Pictures:

Thanks

Thanks for the ident and welcome. Excited to be here.

Here's the pic of the brown-gilled shroom:

edit: I should add..this one was found on the same common, nearby the cluster of Mycena. There was only one that I saw and I only took the one picture...didn't bring the mushroom home with me either
