Bowhunting 2017

Anyone on the Shroomery bowhunting this year? If so, what are you hunting for? Will you be hunting on public or private land?

I have a Bear Wild Compound Bow, Shooting at 60lbs. Scouting for public land hunts starts today. I am going to wait until later this week to go, mostly to scout a place to set up my ground blind. I have never hunted on public land before so is there anything I should look for?

I've never hunted public lands for deer, just ducks on the bays a few times. But I would look for what I normally look for on buddies ranches. Game trails, water, beddings areas. And on public lands I'd look for signs of other humans/hunters.

God thinks that wild animals can not go to the store and buy food whereas people can and so He told me that deer ought to be able to hunt humans every other year so as to even the field so to speak.
Makes sense to me.

Have you had any success finding good hunting spots on public land lillFish?

From my experience on public land its really important to get back into remote areas that are a real pain in the ass to access, otherwise game is scarce and wary. Usually that means hiking back quite a ways off trail into promising country, after first parking at the end of an unmarked, lightly used dirt road. If there is a lot of hiking or off-roading going on in that area don't even waste your time.

Best luck and let us know how things go for you.

I haven't yet. This is the first year for me. The weather has been a little too warm lately for hunting where I live. Soon though. I have been scouting before the season started and I have a couple spots in mind. It's going to be an adventure definitely. Thank you and I will update soon with some pics from my outing.

Kingkc, it's a means to an end trying to control how other people view things and how they live their lives. I am a meat eater, I like wild game and fish. I raise my own chickens for eggs and rabbits for meat. I give them a good life and in return they sustain me. I spend absolutely as little as possible on factory farmed meat. Educate yourself on the real reasons why people hunt for food. I don't care how other people choose to eat, just don't push it on me.
