Liberty cap ID opinions please :)
    #24690399 - 10/07/17 10:44 AM (3 years, 6 months ago)

Found my first ever batch of what I assume are liberty caps. Being a first timer i would appreciate if anybody can ID these from the photos I took? The small group photo I left out overnight and they have dried up nicely leaving the nib on top and the second photo is a bunch I picked this morning in the same location

Thanks in advance!

Also if anyone can advise on the best method for drying without any fancy equipment etc then please let me know!

Thanks dude! I just attached the photos. As they're drying they're lightening up a lot so I'll upload another pic later or tomorrow also with better light.

Picked in south England by the way! Field where cows graze and the majority seemed to be at the highest point of the hill in tufts of grass!

 Placing on a towel or some sort of screen with a fan blowing on them works well.

Thanks. Just got them on paper currently in the top of a cupboard. Do you think theyre most likely libs? Any other species in England to be careful of which look similar to prevent getting ill?

They look good to me, but I'm no expert. What I see most commonly near libs where I live are mycena and conocybe. I think both could be potentially toxic, but they're easy to tell apart from libs with a little experience.
