+24hr and spores from the chonker.
These have a look like they are potent. Almost some pre bruising all over.

Just wanted to report that (despite no fruits yet...) my quebecensis mycelium definitely made it through our harsh winter. I had filled in large divets between roots coming off the bottom of the trees with myceliated chips and substrate to utilize the heat of the tree and the few feet around the tree are precisely where it lived. Was a milder winter than usual (didn't drop below -30f this year but several times below -20f). I was a happy camper, fruits or not.

What are those, p. baeo?
Also, I have decided to add another casing on top of my patch - some of the myceliated chips are exposed on top, and I'd like them to have a little bit more cover. I want something even, but not super chunky - what does everyone reccomend?
Secondly, is there any kind of "food" I can give the mushroom patch to break down and eat and grow on?
Thanks for being patient and answering my questions in advance, I'm a total noob at growing outdoor patches or woodlovers!

Hey guys, i Have a bunch of stem butts P.Subaerguinosa - woodlovers, its almost Winter downunder where these species love to burst and are bursting all over.
I was thinking to buy some mulch and throw it in it pot with it I have very limited time to do agar work or any Grain spawn technique and was hoping for the most easiest method to just set it and forget it and see if I get anything popping up out of the pot within a couple of years?
Its rain8ng season now so i assume even though it is it will be most unlikely that I'll get any produce this year's went up but maybe next year's winter?
Thanks in advance for any thoughts or opinions, really appreciated!

Slowly but surely.

Keeping it at 90% humidity at ~50F +/- a few degrees.

hey holofractal how long did it take to get pins after fruiting conditions? I can't get 50 degree temps though. Looks good.

You consider that slow? I think it's fast AF compared to how slowly mine grew. Probably due to the temps having been lower.

After the drying, which I think is the missing step to getting fruits, it took about 2-3 weeks.

I'm setting up an outdoor bed and would like to grow some azurescens. Can anyone give me any info on how late is too late to transfer spawn and what a reputable vendor for azzie spawn is?

RR is a big fan of the woodlovers but I hear they take a year to grow! Glad to see you're getting pins indoors.

Thanks man! It's a process, what my end goal is to reliability produce fruits that amount to a project not being a total waste of time. I mean getting fruits at all is cool, but if I could even get a few grams from a small tray, that would be awesome.
So now I got more, and larger trays of mycelium undergoing the same drying process. I got cyans, subs and one azure going now. I am accelerating the drying with the subs using a fan. I am unsure if the mycelium also needs to reach summer temps, but for the azures the mycelium maybe got to 75°F when I left it out.

This is just plain hardwood and cactus soil, nothing special. The azures had a more careless and sloppy recipe, so this should be way more productive given that it's been consolidated for quite some time, and I've tried to keep it as a solid mass. Fingers damn crossed haha!
Once it gets very dry, almost crumbly I'll case it lightly and have it undergo the same treatment as the azzies. I have high hopes. I feel like with a little more work and experimentation just maybe I can figure out a way that would make indoor cultivation of wood lovers a little easier and more productive.

I can't make promises but I've gotten cyan spawn outside in july and managed to get fruits, could be the same for you. If I had to make a recommendation, get wood colonized from grain all inside, then just set up an outdoor bed. It'll move really fast inside, 1L of grain into 4L of chips should go lightning fast, then put that 4L into another 12L of hardwood, and (in my experience!) you will have 80-90% colonized in 3-4 weeks. All my other species besides cyans are new this year so I can't speak for those species but given the similarities, should be the same in regards to fruits and their needed conditions.

I'm new to the woodlovers thread but I'll look around for any write-ups on indoor, or wait for holofractal to write one lol. I have shiitake spores I think they grow on wood also so if I can make a FC designed for wood lovers that's my goal. Never saw any woodlovers in person. I don't get out much lol.

Oh yeah. As long as I can demonstrate reproducibility, I'll be making an extremely thorough guide on how to do this from start to finish. I got loads of pictures every step of the way to make a nice pictorial guide.
Last thing I want to do is prematurely celebrate haha.

I’d clone those pins and maybe you can stabilize a good indoor azzie
