So i just took a look at the other containers and well, this one was pretty fast if you keep in mind that i did the pallets on purpose waaaaay over field capacity and they dropped water by just holding them.

This container started from rye grains. ( Azzies )

Niiice, is this WL-Tek as well or plain paper pellets? I find that starting with 80% water then cooking down to around 75% water is best for my pellets.
At first the pellets will be over capacity, and fairly largish chunks, after the microwave and cooling it becomes much smaller.

Even when I add 33% wood pellets, I still do 80%, cooked down for the same time, and still get 70-72%.

Here are images of before and after cook, starting at 80% and ending at 75%.

Ignore the brown colour, I added tea leaves to my mixture.
Smaller parts, more fluffy and more volume.

----

Also your containers are ideal, I can tell by the growth and the partitions around the lid and lips.

My joker box is exactly the same, except it has a clip on lid, not a push on.
The round containers I use are almost like yours, but round.

This clone myc is growing incredibly fast.  Almost too good to be true so I’m being cautiously optimistic.

Spawned the jar I mentioned in my last post around 2:30 am this morning.  I shit you not, came home from work around 8pm and already have new growth all over.  Even seeing surface growth when I added about 1/2” layer of sub on the mixed spawn.  Planning to case with peat, coir and verm.

And here’s the LC I inoculated by swabbing a clone plate on 12/10:

Making some rye seed now to inoculate tomorrow!

This is WL-Tek with no way of holding more water( with CaCo3 and nutrients ).

Those are 850ml pp5 container which are extremely cheap  could add some to your christmas-gift haha

Man this looks good, but before you inoculate some grains, it would be better run some testplates with a drop of it to see if it is contaminated or not. ( If you've done that already forgive me  )

i cased one with dense mycelial mat on top. have few more pots doing just colonization, nothing on surface yet.

I do still kinda hope for fruit from cased one... but not sure if it gonna fruit.

fuck patches, stupidly i made them 250km from home. totally missed to check on them this fall due to life...

Serbica on T-Gel Zero. Bacteria still spread easily, while the myc is lazy and not doing anything.

Azzy flowerpot with branches. Been 2 or 3 days.

Spawn waiting impatiently.

Serbica branch from forest, myc propagating on woodchips. Original dead pin still visible.

Azzy loving her some Spruce chips. Like there's no difference between hard and softwood.

Cubes hate the T-Gel. Same transfer date, different agar.

Serbica - trying to isolate pure myc using semi-sterile techique. Worked much better than any agar attempt, but now it stalled for some reason. Hell, I hope it starts growing again.

If you want almost 100% success in long time... Inoculate any type of dish (I Use MEYA) and toss into the fridge (not the freezer) for 1,5 months. I "recultivated" a serbica strain from a piece of woodchip as you try, and the above seen ovoids from cardboard stembuts. They like the winter and you will get nice strands to transfer

Mmm nice idea! Makes sense in the cold they may outgrow all the bullshit. Still, if the semi-sterile tech works, I will not have to do that. Just needs to start growing again.

Many of my Allenii pins from the tubs inside the shed have dried up and died.
Despite putting on top moist long thin pine shavings or leafs most of the pins dried up. Watering them every second day but the rh in the shed is lower than 65%.
If i put plastic bags they start to stall and look weird.
P.S. Soon starting some interesting woodlovers Azurs,Cyans from south Africa,Cape Town.
Subaeruginosa from south Australia.
And PNW Ovoid.
Much,much work for this winter!
I have going PA Ovoids tubs, pots looking good.

@ Adas

Interesting, what is T-Gel Zero, what recipe are you using? Your results are rather odd-different.

T-Gel without any added sugar. I brewed green tea in 100ml of water and used that as agar, nothing more.

Ive just got a cyanescens print and am starting the journey into woodlovers. Im getting some agar ready but if you guys have any tips it would be great.

I normally use PDA agar but I was thinking to add some saw dust to it. Is that a good idea or should I just switch to MEA agar?

Also I am an arborist so have access to a lot of fresh wood chips. The only thing is the chips can sometimes be sitting in the van for a while and start to get infected with other moulds. Im thinking to use this chip I could bring it to the boil first to kill anything alive already, then pasteurise or sterilise it. would that be a good idea?

@ Adas

Ah ok, I would ask you to read over the T-Gel recipe again please, it's been updated a few times.
Black tea should be used as it has already undergone oxidation, not green.

If you also look at the bacterial growth link, only black tea worked.
Other types of tea grew various types of bacteria.

----

I apologize for any confusion, other's in the past have tried other teas, they don't seem to work.
All of my tests, have been with the provided recipe and assembly, and black tea.

----

Note, above a pH of 6, increases the chances of invader mycelium germinating.
I suggest around 5.5, were possible, and use more (or less) black tea.

====

I have noted the black oxidation with your cubes on green tea.

Thanks, will use black next time.

For me personally, T-Gel from Lemon Balm tea worked fine (and smelled AMAZING), but I haven't tried putting such dirty pieces on it, so hard to say.

So the lemon balm tea produced growth, and was open-air safe?

Yes, both. In fact I have pictures. I even added 1% Sucrose into it, just so you know.

This was Azzy on the LB T-Gel.

Very good, I know for a fact the added sucrose has no notable macro-micro nutrients, and no nitrogen whatsoever.
The uptake images are superb, where the agar has oxidized, and the mycelium is absorbing solubles.

I managed to find most of the data for nutritional composition (right), and data (left), here.
Interestingly Tarragon oyster produces linalool, it also produces coumarin.

----

My test result with cubes improved with added micro-macro nutrients.

Psilocybe cubensis on T-Gel, 100g Water, 2.4g Agar, 1.6g Black Tea, 0.8g Sucrose, 0.04g MG.
The added miracle-gro soluble nutrients and sucrose improved growth.

----

You should do a few more tests and write your own LB T-Gel recipe.

:takingnotes:

Well if you are willing to perform various tests, I can add it to my guide, like Mycolorado's recipe.
I will either need a post, journal entry or a set of images, and wording you agree with.

So this P. Caerulescens is growing incredibly fast.  Know it needs to be cased and I’m planning on using peat/verm/perlite.  Think I should case tonight?

Spawned on 12/12 at approximately 2:30 am.

12/12 - 12:13 pm

12/12 - 7:24 pm
