Would burying them into a large amount of dry vermiculite or other absorbent materials work? Given loss of potency is due to O2 (oxidization), it will cut off the O2 quite well.
And then put the whole thing in the oven, almost like making charcoal.
I'm guessing verm is oven safe, and won't ignite dry.

Even gourmet oysters oxidize in air, here is carbonized water (CaCO3, calcium carbonate). The exposed to air areas have oxidized, and turned black, the rest is fresh.

Here is tissue after 4 months. CaCO3 water, still fresh.

12°C, fridge.

Went outside to check on my project patches and found a young Psilocybe cyanescens! I will be mulching the patch at the end of the season for a nice flush next fall.

Cyan's on calcium bicarbonate (as carbon) + soluble micro-macro nutrients. It took 6 days to get full activation, there is a lot of mycelium.
The recipe, is essentially just for spore activation.

I will be testing the end result.

So you just made an LC with CaCO3 and added Cyan spores? Is the CaCO3 even giving them any advantage?

It replaces sugar, while not being a sugar, its very weak in comparison though. The chances of contamination are reduced, but it's still not perfect.
I'm only using the weak solution on spores for activation.

Well, it's known that after some time spores can germinate even in plain water. Not ideal but they can.

Pure H2O, or impure? If its pure H2O, there is no carbon, if they activate, they must contain some carbon.

People posted pics of spore syringes with germinated myc before. Idk where they get carbon from.

Why not now duder? Don't tell me PNW season is already winding down...?
Spores can definitely germ in water... but usually it's got some ions in it... universal solvent n all...
But if spores are anything like seeds (and I think they certainly have some similarities) then there's gotta be stored nutrients to get things kicking. This stuff isn't already known for sure?
Adas, nice haul! No dehydrator?

I don't get your question Primal Call? If I were to mulch it now it would start to put effort into colonizing the mulch instead of fruiting. The season isn't winding down, it doesn't usually end until around December depending on the weather. what I'm saying is I'm going to wait until its done fruiting for the season before giving it a feed.

Ah! I see. I coulda been more precise, but you answered it. I misinterpreted "mulch. " I do a leafy/cellulose layer (or rely on deciduous drop) during rainy season, woody in spring/summer.

Thanks, Primal! No dehydrator, but I should have just left them sitting in open air, that does the job well enough, but I was impatient. Lesson learned for sure.

If they grow in a certain forest, they can pop up anywhere. Found them in a nice mixed forest that is not natural, workers cut down trees and they seem to like the wooden debris. Weather was pretty humid, basically. Temps up to 15°C during day.

I'm on my way there right now. Does not work like that where I found my spot. It's a little forest, oblong about 1x4 km and they grow on the area of about 20x20m. I have been looking for more locations in that forest for 4 years now and nothing, just this little spot. If they there already will ad som pictures soon.

They are here. Not many but its the beginning of the season here.
. .
Going to look for them in a beech forest by the sea in two weeks time. Now with the time change this weekend wont be able to go to this spot till next weekend.
