I always found a cardboard box to work nicely. Put some woodchips/mulch in with your butts and water daily in a shady spot.

In my opinion your better off leaving them intact. Anytime I start a new outdoor patch I try to leave as much of the mycelium network intact as possible. Pack them in some mulch and water them it’s really quite simple

If you plant right now you'd be lucky too see results by next fall. Sometimes when you seed patches in the spring they are popping by the fall but its rare

Depends how big you make the patch, azures usually don't yield as much as cyans or ovoids tho

Yeah I think cyans are definitely the most aggressive fruiting woodlovers. People have found hundreds of thousands in one place before

Their has been alot of speculation about the soil bacteria. The easiest way to cultivate woodlovers indoors is to start an outdoor patch then move some of the substrate indoors when they start pinning. let nature do the work for you. Some people have had success in starting patches indoors then moving them outdoors to their forever home after a few flushes, it can work but you are fighting against the environment instead of using it to your advantage.

Looks okay but in my experience woodlovers prefer older, more weathered wood gonna be hard to colonized ehile its still green

Start now, it usually takes at least 1 yr to start an outdoor bed from spores.

I want to see a study of how psilocybin works on slugs and other bugs that eat mushrooms. It always seems like the psilocybe species I find growing wild have minimal damage compared to other mushrooms that are infested with various insects.

Cheap colored mulch works great as a bulk sub, if you choose ovoids, bury some boxelder logs in there to give them some extra food cause the myc will tear through those chips in one season

So just curious what an experienced cyanist might say, what would be the best way to go about fruiting these in the shoe boxes as is? I know fall time is best 55-65 degrees, I know they kinda like a mix of wood and soil and really being in the elements of the earth or so I’ve heard, so should I spawn to a bulk wood bed outdoors or could I just case them in the shoe boxes and stick them in a shady area in my backyard? They are colonizing like crazy so should I just keep feeding them and spawn them to more wood chips indoors in anticipation of fall because it’s sort of a long way away? Sorry for all the questions
Put them outside in mulch
