My fish tank tek for Psilocybe subaeruginosa, not fruited yet though but hopefully in 6-8 months I’ll have something good to report:

Has anyone on here cultivated Psilocybe subaeruginosa? And if so, have you noticed slow fruit development in cultivation? Could it be something common to all woodlovers?
Might there be environmental triggers for fruit maturation?
These pins are 10 days old, grown in a fish tank tek that you can find out more about in my signature line.

Covered it with a bit of dirt and 2 types of moss. Should B good! :P

Love the moss idea Adas, good luck I hope it works out for you.

How about FAE, is that not so important compared to increased CO2?

bobwastaken said: Adas, That pot will look amazing when the moss fills in and it fruits. P.subaeruginosa seem to colonize everything I throw at them. Here are two containers of subs cased with coir/verm. I'm thinking to case with rye grass or moss.
That is looking stunning! Fruiting should be just wround the corner yes bobwastaken?

Are these at ambient air temperature all the time now or are they sometimes in the fridge as well?

Adas said: Beautiful myc there, bob! Any idea how long it will take for the moss to grow over the entire surface? I have no idea about moss grow speed, I just know it's rather slow.
One way of applying moss, which is species dependent I think but works for the common type found around where I am, is to gather some and blitz it up in a food blender with some water or milk. This moss paste can then be painted onto rocks, wooden surfaces etc.
I imagine this method can be used on top of sub myc by maybe using woodchips or coir as casing and spraying/painting/pouring the moss paste over the whole lot.
Something like this:

Make sure any pine used is not treated with chemicals. I once had the unfortunate experience of lighting up a bbq with treated pine and the resulting meat had a green tinge to it from the copper chrome arsenate in the pine. Tasted awful.

The allenii are from outdoor patches as well under a rhody bush. Nowhere near the azure flush but I just planted them last year. The myc has expanded outward quite a bit. I'll add more chips after the season finishes. allenii

Can closely related mushroom species 'hybridize'? [Re: Warrk]

As per subject heading. For example, if one were to grow a patch of subs next to a patch of azzies, would a cross emerge where the two patches meet?
