Hey guys, this is my FIRST EVER wild Psilocybe find!

Psilocybe serbica var. bohemica or arcana, not entirely sure. Took me like 30 minutes to collect this. I've been always looking on the wrong side of the forest, haha.

Wondered about putting some spores to grain, but I think that would be redundant. I'll continue working with Cyanescens instead.

Nice ones, if ya have some try to make some prints!

I do at the morning and in the afternoon close to sunset. so twice a day, but just only to refresh the upper layers, do not want to start to rot deep underground. Cyans (if cyans) have first pins in first year and garden giants also liked it.

These mushrooms are in the cyan bed, I cannot identify them clearly, but they show similarities as the inside guys  So if these love the climate, cyans will love too.

This one is surely not cyan.

And this is the state in my cellar:

Ps Cyanescens

Allenii

Peace

They are Ps. allenii, and this tub was not seen any outdoor world, but the clone that  I made from is do. (clone to agar then LC to grains then pasteurised woodchips)

I start to think that they are answering with pins to these factors:

- Average temp is not more than 18C° at all (these started pinning after a week when the cellar dropped down to 18 constant from 20 C° constant)
- 6 h on 18 off lighting I use 4000 K led Bulbs (this I was not sure  I forget the lights on for three days and they grow...
- FAE - 15 min / 1 h
- High Humidity 90+%
- "nastiness" that means I saw some lil' molds were on some chips and I'm sure they caught bacterias from the air or from flies (we know that)
- They start in the end of september every year, so maybe some wireless connection to the outer world  or the shared consciousness of all the woodlovers

I observed that the outdoor maximum temps are in the 18C° range, they start outdoor if a bed is well colonised and established. Also a bed from a clone is produce fruits in the first year and MS cultures nearly not (I've got 2 pins last year, now I have maybe 5 from the MS bed   )

Soooo Donno' They like this cellar for my joy of course

Keep posting pix if anything happens...

The finals... They looks beautifull

And the outdoor allenii beds are producing nice fruits too.

I got Ovoid stembuts from a very good member here (Thanx bytheway  ) So they started to run on cardboard and I'll clone them onto agar to get mass production of spawning material. Hopefully this spring holds some ovoid fruits for me.

Have these two ps Azurescens tubs that are well colonized, and the weather in my region is now becoming just right for the fruiting of these tubs outdoors at night.

Question is when do you guys think that these tubs should be cased?  The plan is to case them with about two inches of pasteurized potting soil, and plant alfalfa seeds in the casing.

I think I have some info for you...

I think one and a half month before pins are showed. So july-august, then the mycelium chew trough the casing (some tubs with bucketted coir, and some with untreated orchidea dirt with peat and gypsum, coir is the best because it does not start to mudding when too wet) after they go through and there is no food for the mycelium upward, they fall back into a safe humid region, and that is when you have to change the temps (not more than 18C° at all) and possibly the light hours (6 on 18 off) and pins starting. These variables happened in the cellar, after that I saw pins in a week. (If ya want check my woodlover journal)

Cyan pins in coir:

Cyans uncased:

I start to think cyans need lower temps to mature because they aborting now. The same happened last year, and when the cellar temps dropped down to 10-14 C° they matured more. Here you can see the aborts and the matured ones, but have to note, that is an MS grow, now only have clones down there.

To the list and with my observation:

Allenii is so much easier just make tubs, let them consolidate for a month above 22 C°, then drop the temps down to 17 C° and spray them well.

I allways print in a big petrie dish outdoor, they probably need the temps for sporeing. Keep on the foil for 36 hours for black print.

I need to ask something guys:
These are Ps cyans in the cellar, and all of the 4 tubs shows the same blackening effect, I start to think that this is strain releated.
Pins starting OK, but after time they got this, kinda bacterial looking. One of the tubs got no watering since first pins and they still show this effect.

Last year I have normal and blackening FBs, maybe I cloned a pin, who remember

I believed that those were aborts.

Anyone encountered with this sympthoms.

Outdoor this strain is producing low stemmed mushrooms, with small caps but have the normal color. This is a picture of the first pin, underdeveloped as you can see, but the cap colour is normal.

Thanx
Peace

What temps you running in there?

Are they colored that way then developing normally, acquiring regular color after a certain point?

If they get this color, they stop. Temps in the cellar is constant 15-16 C° outside is 15 ish at day 0-2 at night :frown:

Moricz, are you giving your Cyans enough Nitrogen? Such as leaves, grass, compost.. whatever.

They are on woodchips as usual, but I throw leaves every week when I collect enough, but leaves are in color not dry. Also got some poop from my dog  Not all over the bed of course, and I allways throw away, when digging.

Your's Allenii come from Europe or are native from America?

The origin is from the US several years back. (Codename is AiJD ) Got this from a JohnDoe named Topia member.
US print 201X
CEU MS culture to bed in 2014 - Fruited, done by JohnDoe
I got a handfull of chips in 2015 No luck to agar, but in a cardboard bucket it was thrived and dropped one fruit that I managed to clone

Agar to LC to grains to pasteurised woodchip tubs to beds and more tubs 2016 ,2017 they fruited everywhere.

Fortunatelly Got more from the outdoor beds from now than my tub got inside so far. But the oudoor bed is gettin slow and not too soon they will be start to sleep through the winter, at the end the inside cellar tubs can produce more than the beds at all.

Peace

So are you growing the grain at room temperature (18-20C+?) then spawning to chips at the same temperature range? Then casing at 100% and putting in the cold cellar?

And what's your casing made of?

I worked the sterile work on 20-24 C° mostly, I don't care the temps with the woodlovers, they slow anyway.
When the tubs made the spring come in and the cellar slowly started to heat up from 7C° to 20 C° max (middle in the summer) They just stayed down there to colonise. So when the tubs made the cellar has 14-18 C° average. Then got the "heat" for 2-2,5 month, then fall came and the temps dropped slowly to constant 18 C°
After a week in the 18C the allenii and cyans started to pin, only allenii got matured fruits so far. 1,5 month is normal down there to mature, in the wild they finishes up in 2 weeks or less

I cased them with different materials:
The above cyans have 2 tub cased with straight coir, bucketted for one hour
Also got cyans with a little more acidic azaleia dirt and peat mix with gypsum
And uncased

allenii got 50-50+, azalia mix, and uncased, no coir that I sorry by now

Cased in the end of July (20C°) or August. 1/2 - 1 inch depth.

Last year I tricked a pot of allenii when the first flush is cut down, I dunked the pot with tap water, then placed in a 20-22 C° place for a month, then back to the cellar into 10 C° -ish. They fruited well.

All of my knowledge

If you have agar try to clone, I done this with hidrogen peroxide before.

Or

Sterilise woodchips, drop some inner tissue as clean as you can to it, leave in cold (like 16C°) then forget for 2-3 months. Also done before. Later you can chip to chip (like grain to grain) into supplemented woodchip sawdust.

Cardboard also works, so start some routes if ya have time

Cheers

Good thinking, yes after read this, definietly do some LI or LC too.

Yes those are looking good, once you drop them on woodchips you will see the true form of the mycelium.
