They used to animal test dogs and cats with LSD back and observed the effects, doubt a shroom dose would be too bad ultimately. Only bad thing is the chocolate but as noted it might not even be that bad. Maybe try to make the dog vomit if you want or take to vet for chocolate consumption if need be, wouldn't really mention the shrooms.

The dog is going to be out of it. I think the vet would notice. What's more important saving face in front of a stranger or trying to help the dog/take care of your responsibility.

You could say the chocolate made the dog feel sick. You could say he ate shrooms but you wouldn't want the vet reporting it for animal abuse and calling the appropriate authorities. However, it could be something that's necessary if the vet route is taken.

I highly doubt a vet would report it as abuse, it was accidental and the fact the dog has been taken in as a precaution I'm sure the vet would commend.

Alright were back, shes fine, the vet said that the brownie wasn't going to kill her or anything and that we got off lucky. I dont think he noticed she was completely out of it either, thanks guys. Dodged a bullet

I know the response is a day(okay,a few days) late and a dollar short, but I'm sure eventually someone else will have a similar issue and end up on this thread. Milk chocolate is not particular dangerous for dogs(definitely not good for them, but it takes a large amount to do serious damage). On the other hand, dark chocolate even in small amounts is incredibly dangerous to dogs due to an increased presence of theobromine.

Wasn't anywhere near enough chocolate to be harmful. Small amounts are harmless. You can even buy little chocalate dog treats made of real cocoa. Called choc drops. At least that used to be a thing 10 or 15 years ago

Yes...it is the dark chocolates that are the worst for dogs....dark baking chocolate is the worst.
I had a dog eat a whole regular sized hershey bar and the vet said not to worry...milk chocolate is down the list...they have to eat a lot to become toxic. She did get the shits though.

Dark chocolate isn't really a different kind of chocolate; it just has a higher cocoa content. A very small amount of dark chocolate wouldn't be a problem either

I'm not interested in being an asshole, but if you've force-fed your dog h2o2 "several times" to induce vomiting because you fucked up and let it eat potentially toxic amounts of "raisins, chocolate, etc."(what the fuck is "etc."?!), then i really don't think you should have pets.
"In case this comes up in the future(and it will)" No. It won't; not if you're a responsible pet owner. That isn't anywhere near routine for responsible pet owners. I've had pets all my life. I don't take it as a normal, inevitable occurrence that they'll end up ingesting potentially toxic amounts of some shit that i"m too lazy or irresponsible to keep out of their reach. Please tell me you don't have children
